For over 25 years Outdoor Odysseys has been offering quality guided sea kayaking and whale watch tours in the San Juan Islands of Washington State. Our tours feature opportunities to see killer whales and eagles while paddling, we offer great camp cuisine including Dutch oven cookery and guides that are mature (average age is 29), fun and professional. In 2009 we were selected by National Geographic Adventure Magazine as one of the "200 best outfitters" in the world.

My husband and I did the 2 day kayak trip for our 8th anniversary! Our guide Margaux was friendly and fun! We had a small group of 7 total (including guide) which was really nice! This was our first time kayaking, I have a terrible fear of being in a small boat on the open water, but I became very... More

Intense on many levels. We went 7/18 hoping to see orcas and we were not disappointed. It was intense in a few different ways: seeing orcas right in front of your kayak, and having them swim under you is a crazy experience (and apparently not too common). It was also intense because it's a lot of work. Kayaking on the... More

When conditions are ideal it's easy to write a positive review but on this particular day the conditions were far from ideal. We went out on July 20 with 25 mph winds and 5 ft waves. We had a large group of 11, nine of them first time sea kayakers. In my opinion this trip should have been canceled for... More

My daughter, my aunt, my mom, and myself all went on the 3 day kayaking trip. I will start off with the many good things. The guides were all great. Jen and Kylie were sweet and informative. Side kick, Severin, was a fun addition and very knowledgable. Shout out to the orca pancakes he made one morning:) All the equipment... More

I can not say enough good things about this trip. The guides, were the absolute best. Jennifer and Matthew were so fun, full of facts and great people to get to know. The food, could hold its own against any restaurant in Seattle. I want to try one of their other tours!

I went on the two day kayak with Jennifer as the guide. I had had very little kayaking experience but was put at ease right away. Was able to challenge myself and learn a lot along the way. The food was FANTASTIC! Great job, would do it again in a heartbeat!

Seven of us went on a "Custom" 5 day Tour. We were told we could set our own pace and enjoy the sea/wildlife and scenery of the San Juan Islands. This was not the case. We were a group of varying levels, three beginners and four more experienced kayakers. The first day out was a twelve mile paddle. We didn't... More

This rating is based solely on the sense of wonder that accompanies sharing an ocean with the majestic Orcas. The kayaking itself wasn't all that great, though the tour guides did a great job of pointing out interesting things. Be prepared to wait a LONG time before you actually get in the water. Between travelling to the beach, getting out... More

We went on the full day sea kayaking tour and it was really fun. There were two other groups with us, everyone was our age, and our guide Kiley was excellent. Super relaxed and cool, she told us all about the bald eagles (and we saw some), made us a great lunch, and we even stopped and snacked on kelp.... More
