A belated review for the five day kayak tour we did in the last week of July 2014 - it was totally fantastic from start to finish. We were a small group of five, with a terrific guide/host ERIC. The equipment and safety briefing etc was great then we headed off. Eric was incredible, totally informative, in quiet times and... More

My cousin and I were fortunate to experience the magnificent Haro Strait (Puget Sound) on one of the last weekends with good weather in 2014. The company, Sea Quest Expeditions, made it clear that whales are not guaranteed. However, our guide, Martine Springer, successfully got us close enough to L-pod to identify them (and their new calf, L120). Personally, I... More

We had a small group when we did the afternoon kayak by Lime Kiln Park. It was very boring. We expected to see wildlife and learn interesting things even if the whales were not around. It was a quiet, peaceful kayak trip, but we can do that at home.

Our mission is to provide kayak tours first and foremost. You should not join a kayak tour unless you are interested in the activity of kayaking and the enjoyment that the sport, nature scenes, and various wildlife provide. If you're only interest is seeing whales, and you don't appreciate seals, eagles, mountain views, etc., we suggest you seek entertainment through... More

Giving a FAIR review of SQK company. I chose this company because seeing an orca in the wild has always been a dream of mine so when I decided to do kayaking there was a lot of choices but I chose this company because over the phone they were the kindest and most informational. They told me that Sept. was... More

"Only a humpback!" We are sorry to deliver such a disappointment! Imagine how that whale feels to be so scorned, just because it was the wrong species. We are glad the other guests that participated on this tour had more realistic expectations for an outdoor adventure. The synopsis of this review seems to be: 1) awesome guide, 2) success in... My mate and I enjoyed 3 day kayak under the stewardship of Eric, a knowledgeable, hospitable and capable guide. Although we would have loved to have seen the orcas, this did not happen, but we knew in advance that this was a possibility. This is no-one's fault, given that many tours have the privilege of seeing them constantly. What matters... More

My best friend and I took a trip to the San Juan Islands to kayak WITH Orcas. We did the 3 day, 700$ expedition, and it wasn't worth a single penny. In our group, it was her and I, and two Australian males. Our "leader" was also a male. During this three day trip, we kayaked over 40miles without seeing... More

We are sorry to hear that this reviewer did not enjoy her tour. For a completely different impression of the same tour and guide, please read the review above from Phillip V of Brisbane, Australia who participated on the same tour date and graciously volunteered to provide additional paddle power in the reviewer’s kayak on the final day. The contrast... More

From the start, Sea Quest was wonderful. They were always accessible by phone during the planning stage and gave detailed information, answering all of my questions (with patience-lol). The actual kayak trip was incredible, flawless and an experience I will never forget. Gina, our guide, was so knowledgeable about everything from sea life and botany to the history of the... More

The company used very good equipment, showed up on time and kept to the schedule that was layed out beforehand. The area we kayaked (40+ miles over 3 days) was beautiful! Sam was our guide and was TOTALLY AWESOME! He made great breakfasts and dinners for the group of 8. He was WAY STOKED about all the animals we did... More

I love sea kayaking and wanted to explore the San Juan area (most beautiful place ever). Our guide, Eric, was awesome. He shared so much information about the wildlife we saw while kayaking and it was such a fun journey. We camped on a cute little island surrounded by seals and enjoyed gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. It was truly an... More

We had a great time. We did the 3 day camping/kayaking trip and enjoyed the whole thing. We didn't see any orcas on this trip, but that's the way it goes sometimes. But what we missed out on with this trip was made up with many other great things. We saw many seals, eagles, porpoises, owls, deer and many other... More
