Though we didn't see orcas while out kayaking on our three-hour morning tour, we saw them off shore immediately after we hauled our kayaks out! Our van driver and Jason, our guide, were very friendly and made sure everyone was properly outfitted, understood how to operate the kayak, etc. I must say I found the pre-trip paperwork to be somewhat... Kayaking with the Orcas was a MUST during our trip to Seattle last month. We went with SeaQuest expeditions. Overall we were satisfied. We ordered tshirts when we booked our trip 1 month in advance. After our tour, we asked about our tshirts, they did not have size we requested. However they did mail us one a few weeks later.... More

Sea Quest was disorganized from the beginning. They sent the packing list after half of our 8 people were in the air traveling to the island which left us scrambling when we had booked months before. On the day of the trip the closest we got to the whales was a view from the land. Our brand new guide had... More

Let me start by saying, it's ridiculous to give a bad review here because you didn't see orcas up close and personal. Sea Quest will drop you in prime orca territory but the rest is up to nature. That said, I highly recommend Sea Quest! Our guide was Jason, who is just an all around cool guy. I also spoke... More

Just got back from our Seattle Trip and loved our visit to San Juan Island. The highlight for us was the kayak tour through Seaquest. We booked the trip online and they were great about communicating with any questions. We took the ferry over the morning of and got to the ferry terminal about 30 minutes before it left, that... My boyfriend was visiting from Arkansas & had heard about kayaking with the whales. We made it a point to read reviews before we booked. Our guide Kelton was fantastic! A very easy going young man who talked to you more like a friend than a guide. Full of knowledge about the under water animals we were about to encounter... More

I called 2 times to make sure guides knew our time frame for ferries. The guides knew nothing about our time constraints . I ordered 2 t- shirts, 1 large, 1 small . They had only large and extra large available in our van. I loved the experience, but I did expect more in terms of information for the novice.... More

Hi June, We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your kayak tour! I want to assure you that your guide was informed about your travel time requirements and your T-shirt purchase. In fact, this special information was given to him verbally just before he met you. It was also printed on his trip roster next to your names. We... More

It was fun and quite the workout, and I am in reasonably good condition. Our guide was congenial and skilled, although I could have used some (any) assistance adjusting the controls of the kayak to fit my leg length. Throughout the entire afternoon, I never felt like they were appropriately adjusted which added significantly to the workout. One of my... More

Three old friends and I, all turning 50 this year decided to go on the 3-day, 2-night excursion, travelling in from the East Coast. We decided on this after looking at the data provided by Seaquest regarding historical orca sightings. We knew there was no guarantee we would see orcas. It was a risk we were willing to take. We... Their website really advertises how you will see Orca's and that you will be kayaking right along their feeding grounds for two whole days, and get to go on a hike to a beautiful light house. None of these things occured. We were stuck on the east side of the island where the Orcas do not normally go. We spent... More

This June & July we have succeeded in finding orcas on 86% of our camping tours and we feel like we’ve lived up to our commitment of doing our best to locate whales for all of our guests. Your complaint regarding whales is difficult to reconcile when your group observed a pod of orcas on the first day of your... More
