I stumbled on this course earlier this year after playing a golf tournament for a local tour. The course is really nice and has lots of trees and pretty nice greens. I've played many San Antonio courses and this one is one of my favorites. The only drawback is that it does get quite busy on the weekends, so you... More

The is an old Tillinghurst design that is in terrific shape. Short but not easy it will test you. The greens are top notch. The old trees that line the fairways require straight well thought shots. Many Texas Opens we're played here so you are on hollowed golf ground. Hogan, Nelson and many others have played. They have a$6.98 lunch... More

This is an old Tillinghast course from 1916 that was remodeled four years ago. This place was once infamous for long rounds and too many hackers hitting the wrong fairways. We played here twice this year trying to get a better feel for this tract. This course is over-hyped and over-priced. The expensive redesign has not changed the front nine... More

Since the restoration a few years ago, this muni ranks up there with the best San Antonio has to offer. Built by Tillinghast in 1916, it is a little gem. About 6400 yards from the tips, it is the sand traps that pose the greatest challenge, as they are strategically placed in the fairway to cause you to have to... More

Brack as we call the course here was recently restored to its original glory except for a small part that was taken to build highway 281. Even though it is relatively short, it is a real challenge with the river, creek and well-placed bunkers. It is fun too and you walk with the legends of golf. Brack was the home... More

A renovated Tillinghast course for $50. Great service - tee time was honored, rental clubs were on the cart. Low frills clubhouse, but interesting layout. Classic design with elevated green complexes that make you wish you played there more than once to see how putts would roll. Fun track and nice people.

When you hear "Historic" you think it's outdated and in poor condition. Neither are true for this Tillinghast gem. The oldest course in Texas still provided a challenging test of golf and engaged me to improve my golf skills. Brackenridge forced me to hit all the clubs in my bag, place my shots in the right spots, and beat me... More

They rebuilt the course at a cost of several million dollars a few years back. Plan on a six hour round, fairways that cross ( so golfers are always hitting across back to their own fairway). No cart service, no elevation change and poor fairway/greens. SA has a ton of great courses, this is a over-hyped muni that and my... More

This refurbished course has a great deal of history and worth a visit when in San Antonio. It is a muni course. So be it. The customer service was of the highest quality and as good as any high level resort I have been to. I don't expect the quality of customer at a muni course that I experienced here.... More
