We attended our Airman's BMT graduation. To see him grin when he saw us at the road side during the Airman's run was priceless! The review ceremony was flawless and by the time the classes turned onto the "bomb run" for their pass in review the atmosphere was electric with pride! A must-do, must-see for Air Force families everywhere. Did... More

We were there for graduation of our grandson from basic training. It was a very inspiring time for us all. His mom and dad and sisters were there and we all were given the utmost assistance from the base personnel during our stay. The base is constantly under construction to handle the growing influx of new recruits for training but... More

The base is huge, but has everything a person could need, stores, restaurants, churches, etc. Graduation is really wonderful, so glad I was able to attend!

Graduation was ok. Very disappointed with the comments made at it. One should NEVER bad mouth another branch of the military, and the C.O. did that during her speech. Very upsetting.

Visited lackland for my boyfriend's sons graduation. The chairman's run and coin ceremony were amazing! So proud of all the young men and women for all their hard work and accomplishments. My cup runneth over! We were hungry and tired after a mile or so hike to bx to eat. What a nightmare! Ordered a dominos pizza for my daughter... More

The base is huge! Upon checking in to see our loved one for his boot camp graduation they immedietely need the person you are visiting to come to the visiting office to voucher for your arrival. They take your picture, ask for your social, and this becomes your ticket to go in and out of base (don't loose it!) until... More

Liked the strong security. Everything closed early and could not access the store I was looking for late Saturday and Sunday everything was pretty much closed.

Get there early, get a seat at the parade grounds and WAIT. No reason to go all the way to the Center for 'orientation'. Just get in line at the Luke Blvd Gate(East) and wait your turn. Head to the parade grounds and get a seat and wait. bring water, seat cushion if you have a tender tush. seats are... More

I was born at Wilford Hall Hospital which is now being closed, I served from 1985-2002 there. Most of the museums and things to see are falling due to budget cutbacks. Static displays are nice but not as nice as the Security Police museum was. If your being assigned here get with someone before you venture off base.

We went to our granddaughters BMT graduation. It was a very moving experience. The temperatures were in the 100's. I don't know how those young adults stand the heat and humidity, but they adapt. Make sure you drink a lot of water if you are here in the summertime. It is very impressive how they can manage to graduate 35,000... More
