This is the second time we have been to this base. It's clean, easy to get around, and all staff were very helpful. We are civilians who enjoyed attending two graduations. So proud of our AIR FORCE and all branches that are on this base.

A very special place. Love the security they have in place. We went for a graduation. Disappointed we didn't get to see the graduating class do the run. Still a great day.

It really was a wonderful experience and a proud moment to be able to be on Base and even stay on Base Lodging to be part of this proud moment in your son's life. I recommend staying on the Base Lodgings very organized and you get to spend more time with your Airman. They even have a small kitchen in... More

Lackland is the home of the historic Wilford Hall hospital and after several decades of stellar service Wilford Hall is being moved to an enormous outpatient clinic building being built next door. The old Wilford Hall will eventually be demolished. Drive on base to check out the airplane/jet display (one of the country's best) and the new Wilford Hall clinic... More

Lackland Air Force Base is the basic training center for the United States Air Force. Numerous individuals have gone through their training here and returned back to San Antonio as a result of the beautiful memories associated during their time here.

I am amazed at some of the negative reviews of this base! The USAF is not responsible for your 'tour happiness' . They owe you nothing. YOU on the other hand, OWE the USAF and her sister services EVERYTHING you have. Without them and the dedicated servicemen and women- we'd be speaking German and Japanese. To criticize this or any... Went through basic training years ago and checked it out on my own once again. Great to see our future Airmen growing up here and to see the place where it all happens. It's a must see.

The base is humongous, you will get lost. Mind your manners and don't get nasty because there are plenty of people that will fix that attitude.
