We had a wonderful time at Lackland for our grandson's graduation from Basic Military Training. The base is absolutely clean from one end to the other. Parking was a breeze. We experienced the largest graduating class since 1976 due to a schedule change. They changed the schedule from 8 1/2 weeks to 7 1/2 weeks so they had to double... More

We were here for my grandson's graduation from Basic Military Training. 8 1/2 weeks of drilling and learning to behave in a military fashion. Thursday begins with the trainees' "Run". Get there early because they run by at 8:30 A.M. There are plenty of seats in the four very large high rise bleachers. Be advised that the steps/seats have no... More

Great facilities and support. Nice BX, lodging, and services. Make sure you don't speed on base, the Security Forces WILL ticket you if you speed. Lodging is very affordable.

We took out of towners here and we enjoyed the museum of airplanes. Just happened that one person with us is an expert on aviation. As we walked around the grounds he surprised us by telling us about each airplane. When I looked you would have thought he wrote the stories that were posted about the aircrafts. Recommend to anyone... More

This is a great place to take kids to see the history of our Air Force aircraft. Wonderful for taking photos with family and aircraft. Be sure to have identification upon entering the base. You may also be asked to show proff of insurance. The best time of day is noon in order to avoid shawdows in the photos. The... More

Graduated from Here 50 yrs Ago and attended my nephews graduation this March. Quite emotional. Not the same as the 1960's but still the home of the Worlds Best Air Force. Enjoyed all the ceremonies and hope its still there 50 yrs from now.

I attended my second usaf graduation at lackland this weekend. As usual, it is kind of hard to navigate around base. There wasn't much to do on base except eat and shop at the bx and mini malls. The gate guards were very friendly and helped with directions.

My wife and I traveled to Lackland to attend our son's graduation. The base is pristine, but our GPS navigator had difficulty locating the building we were to be at for the graduation. We finally arrived at the guard post for the area we were supposed to enter, but we were late. Not too late for the graduation, but later... More

OK I'm giving it 5 stars because of the occasion not really because the base was awesome. LOL! They have 2 BXs, several eateries like Subway, Pizza Hut, etc. I saw some hotels on base like Comfort Inn (not sure of names but something like that). Oh, we ate at Denny's off-base and the manager there made everyone give the... More

The US Air Force takes good care of their people, the gyms, the facilities, etc... Air Force Bases are awesome. Obviously not open for all to attend but if you have an ID Card or are with someone with one you can visit.
