From childhood, attending movie performances was a real treat to be had here. From the ornate parapets and walls of spanish village facade to the open nite sky and clouds projected on the indigo blue star lit ceiling, the theatre has always been a bit of magic to me. As an adult, I still feel some of the magic in... More

The Majestic Theater is beautiful, and there are no bad seats in the house. Each floor has its own bar.

I love to listen to Eddie lecturing Americans on history. (Because we have some and they don't, right Eddie?) Much of what is taken for granted in Europe - aetheism, humanitarianism, liberalism - unfortunately becomes bleeding edge in the US. Most folks can probably pick out homages to Monty Python (Spanish Inquisition, Jeff - The Roman God of Biscuits, etc)... More

Best seats are first 12 rows on the floor, the first 6 rows in the mezzanine and balcony. I really enjoyed the broadway series. The remodel is wonderful!

Make the effort to see one of the greatest movie theater palace that was ever built and is still standing. John Eberson was the architect. The theater itself is worth seeing as it is throwback to the glory days of cinema houses that were often the most impress structure in a city. Carefully look at the detailed work in the... More

You must visit this gem if you're visiting San Antonio! Taking in a concert or play is even better! I love sitting and looking up, imagining I'm in the patio of an ornate Spanish Villa under the stars. It's wonderful! Classical music concerts, with the fabulous San Antonio symphony orchestra are only enhanced by the environment. I've attended concerts and... More

Theaters used to be elegant places, not shoeboxes wth sticky floors and a movie screen. This theater was built for both stage presentations and the then relatively young movie medium, with an emphasis on creating an elegant environment to enjoy both. It was restored to its original splendor in more recent years and is used for orchestra concerts, road-show musicals,... More

What a beautiful venue to see a wonderful show. I was especially impressed with the old fashioned hand cranked elevator with the older gentleman operating it. He was so nice. There was a problem with my seat and after I spoke with an usher they were able to move me with no problems and for this I thank them greatly!
