My husband bought tickets to a play I wanted so see- six months in advance- as a surprise for my birthday. We have a newborn who is exclusively breastfed and he can't figure out how to use a bottle or pacifire, so a sitter simply isn't an option- even his pediatrician can vouch for that! This is a beautiful theatre in the heart of downtown San Antonio. They have musical performances as well as the Broadway Series of shows here. It was originally built in 1929 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It has been restored to its original state and is quite ornate and lovely. We have had seats in several... more

This theater has been beautifully restored, though as an attraction in itself would be only a ten or fifteen minute stop. I particularly enjoy the lighted stars in the ceiling and the beautiful city skyline when the change they lighting from day to night. Lots of touring acts use this mid-sized venue along with the SA Symphony. more
