My two kids, 12 and 7, and our 7 month old puppy had a great day at the dog park and walking paths. A park "docent" was riding around on her bike helping lost or confused (that being us) people how to get around. Super helpful, gave us a map of hiking trails around San Antonio. Walked a bike trail... More

Have been to this park many times for different events with running and soccer. The park is set back from a busy street and has playgrounds, soccer fields, pavilions, bathrooms, picnic areas, and lots of paved walkways through natural areas. It is kept clean and usually people around. If you are in the area and want to take a walk... More

One sunny, chilly Monday morning last month (December 2013) my husband and I were in San Antonio with our granddaughter and we decided to take her to play at McAllister Park. The grounds were very well maintained, and the bathrooms clean. The playground equipment was in great shape, and our little one loved playing on everything. The only draw back,... More

We go here a lot. There is a descent size dog park, lots of bike/hiking trails, sports fields and two playgrounds. On playground has fitness equipment near by. I've seen deer, rabbits and snakes out ..

Had a group picnic with my church group and several others on Sunday afternoon and the grounds of the park were impressive. The various tables and pavilions are spread out enough where it doesn't seem overly crowded even with as many folks were there. I hear the trails are great too but I can't personally attest to that as I've... More

We couldn't leave San Antonio without visiting the McAllister Park Shoe Tree. It was a bit hard to find due to road closures and the fact that the park is HUGE. Once you make your way into the park look for the optimist pavilion. There are maps posted around the park to help. The tree is easy to miss but... More

we go a lot because of the dog park. The dog park is great they have a place for small dogs and big dogs. The only bad thin I could say is other is no water in the small dogs area. Not a big deal though because we just take our Yorkshire terrier in the big dogs area and most... More

McAllister Park has everything. BBQ grills and picnic tables, soccer fields, playgrounds, hiking trails and even some outdoor gym type equipment. I can walk for miles in this park without repeating the same trail over and over. There are plenty of bathrooms. Not always clean and the stalls don't have doors. The rating would have been 5 stars if not... More

We went here specifically to see and photograph the “shoe tree” that overhangs the parking lot near the Optimist Pavilion. Shoe trees are trees where enough people have thrown old shoes into the branches to make the tree stand out as a landmark. It’s weird, but interesting. I’m interested in the unique sights that places I visit have to offer,... More

McAllister Park is a great place to run in big city. The trails are good, and lots of people like to go here.
