A place stated to have been orchestrated by local administration is simply a heaven. It is always blissful and exhilarating to silently observe the human sea. It is always jam packed on Saturdays and Sundays. The natural flow of human movement from upstairs or connecting bridges is an all time pleasurable experience. Walking ,drinking boating loitering ,all in whispers no non... More

On Friday, March 27th the Mr. & I took the Historic King William's District walk with Gary. The weather was crisp but sunny, the houses were stunning, and Gary provided architectural, historic, and 'gossipy' details about many of the houses we saw as we strolled this gorgeous neighborhood. I can imagine in the hot summertime the neighborhood would be a... More

This was a great, great 2 hour tour choice for us! It's one thing to just walk around an historical city, it's another thing to actually know what you are seeing. So much more interesting! Gary did a brilliant job showing us important highlights of this amazing city. Yes, as other reviewers have noted - he gives a lot of... More

If you want to take a walking our and learn something, this is the tour. I like walking tours because you stop and go when you need to and not because traffic is pushing you along. I really liked it because I am a fan of history and as I listened I recognized the similarities of San Antonio's history with... More

My three person party went on the history tour and loved it. With that said, if you are not a history fan, chose one of their other tours because you will find it too much. My group however loved it. We were lucky enough to be the tour (no-one else on it). The tour guide was friendly, informative and helpful.... More

Our trip to see the Alamo and Six Flags Fiesta included some time in San Antonio. The River Walk was a little bit of magic in the middle of the city. Charming, fun and lots to see. We had a terrific lunch and took the boat tour in the early afternoon. The tour was entertaining for all ages and I... More

Having read the reviews of these walking tours, we decided to participate in two of them. After visiting The History Shop and watching the Alamo presentation at I Max Theater, we met our guide for an in depth "History" stroll. We not only learned a great deal about the historic battleground but also about the settlement of San Antonio until... More

My husband and I had been to San Antonio a couple times but had never taken a tour. The history tour offered by San Antonio Walks was awesome. We were the only people on the tour and Gary was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable and shared a LOT of information about San Antonio.

We stayed right on the Riverwalk, literally right out our door. Strolling along the walk was nice. Plenty of restaurants, bars and attractions. You can get any kind of food that you wanted! Not all of them are open for lunch but you can still find what you want.

My husband and I love history and have been on historic walking tours all over the US and Europe, so naturally when I found the “San Antonio Walks” website and read the reviews on this page I booked the “History” tour. BIG MISTAKE… I should have read the bad reviews more closely and heeded their advice. The details were overwhelming.... More
