San Antonio is my hometown and the King William’s neighborhood is one of my favorite neighborhoods. I love walking through the area and diving out of town visitors through the neighborhood. Therefore I was intrigued when I learned of the San Antonio Walks, King William’s tour. I hesitate to recommend something if I haven’t tried it myself, so I took... More

I saw this tour recommended on the Westin Web site. As stated, it is one of the best tours I have done. The History tour gives you not only the Alamo stories, but why the city and culture developed the way it did. There were several stopping and sitting spots along the way (very shaded). Gary, my guide, truly shows... More

San Antonio is one of those places where if you want to do something different every day, you can. Between the River Walk, the Mi Tiera 24 hour bakery and resturant, the Mexican shopping area (the largest Mexican shopping area outside of Mexico!), the 2 hour drive to the Border (make sure you have a change for the Border crossing,... This tour is short on walking (about a mile) and long on historical details. Gary was extremely knowledgeable about San Antonio history and was able to dispell myths and expand on commonly held beliefs, such as why the Alamo is so named, why Santa Ana was so set on taking no prisoners, and why Germans immigrants were at one time... We took the History tour with Gary and found this to be an excellent tour. Gary is a great tour guide and very knowledgable about the history of San Antonio. This is a serious history tour and probably isn't for kids or people not that interested in the history of the Alamo or the city of San Antonio. We went... More

You would miss 90% of San Antonio's history without this excellent, well-priced tour. They provide much more information than the Alamo! More

We took the King William District Architecture Tour on a sunny morning. Jerry our guide was extremely knowledgeable about each of the homes. There are so many different styles and each one seems to have some unique feature as Jerry pointed out. The walk was leisurely and we always stood in a shady spot as Jerry explained the points of... We took two of Gary's tours. The King William historical tour and the history of San Antonio tour (which includes the Alamo). Gary, the tour guide, has incredible knowledge and enthusiasm for the area. His presentation was exceptionally interesting and fact filled. He showed the big picture; how events happening around the world affected the events that happened in San... More
