Great place to take a date. Either to eat at the restaurants there, hang out or shop for crafts. Afterwards, you can head down to the Riverwalk. You can also park fairly close.

La Villita is a collection of homes and buildings along the central loop of the Riverwalk. If you're on the river head to street level when you reach the Arneson River Theater. You'll find a number of the oldest structures in San Antonio which have been converted to shops and art galleries. If you happen to be there on the...

This is one of the gems of San Antonio. There are only artisan boutiques, many with the artists and craftspeople working onsite. This is where we did much of our shopping and browsing. Do Not Miss This.
On a recent trip to San Antonio for a few days earlier this month after Easter while we were visiting Texas family from our home location of Rochester, NY, we read about this place on Trip Advisor and I was so glad we went. We arrived at La Villita from the Hop-On Hop-Off bus, but you can also get there from the River Walk. It is a square of older houses that have been turned into a craft area. There are all manner of little shops in this well maintained bit of history and during fiesta the place really livens up. Worth a walk through if you're in the area already for the Alamo or the Riverwalk.
There are some nice shops with unique items, the copper shop is really cool with jewelry and house items. Beautiful oil paintings, pottery and art work... the restaurants in this area are good with room for events and to sit and rest on the steps.
If you read all of my reviews of San Antonio, you'd know that I love San Antonio and think you should invest a lot of time visiting it. This is right on the river and is a lot of fun. You see artisans doing crafts and you see tourist traps. Go visit and see what you think.
cute cobble stone village 1800 houses hold shops with all kinds of stuff loved the shop called Angel? it had linen clothes really cute and unusual things. Lots of great art here too. the stage is on the climb down to the riverwalk.dancing and etc..
It is a bit gimmicky, but in a strange way. Lots of local stores make up this round colony downtown. if you're in the mood for handmade jewelry or art, check it out.
