There are two things just about every child in San Antonio has done — visited Brackenridge Park and taken a ride on the Brackenridge Eagle Miniature Train. It'll take you on a scenic tour of the park, so you can rest your feet and enjoy the ride. It is also one of the longest miniature train rides in the world, covering 3.2 miles of track and taking guests to many stops around the park such as the zoo, sunken gardens, and the Witte Museum.

Great little train!

We rode this with slightly older kids (8-11). Even though they were older we all had fun. Nice long ride with pretty views. The nearby park next to the zoo is fun too.

We love the train rides. Kids have so much fun. Sometimes we don't even enter the zoo, just do the train!

The train is a separate cost from the zoo and takes you around brackenridge park outside of the zoo. You do not see any zoo animals on this ride. It costs $5 per person and lasts about 20 minutes. I don't know if they had a special on Christmas but we were only charged $3.50. This is a short ride... More

We usually hop on the train before heading into the Zoo. Price is reasonable. Lots of construction going on right now along the tracks.

I must say that the zoo train at my local zoo in St. Louis is way better than this one, you can see the animals. It does take you by attractions, but on the day we went, it was super crowded. We had to wait a few hours. Noticed no one was getting off at any attraction which meant those... More

I was expecting more. It was closed when we visited the zoo I guess due to rain. So we actually came back and it was a small train with a short route. Not worth a return trip

A trip to the zoo isn't complete without a ride on the train. Inexpensive and enjoyable for all ages, but especially the kids. The train takes you through the area near the zoo and makes stops for those who want to spend some time before getting back on the train. Kids love it and so do their parents and grandparents.

This has always been here for as long as I can remember and endless ages of children have enjoyed it and thought they were being carried away to a special land.

My 5 year old is obsessed with trains when he seen this heating mediately wanted to go on the train. It was only a few dollars to ride the train but it took you around to places I don't even know what's around the zoo. I'll definitely be visiting this again if we end up in San Antonio this is...
