ride the train

the train ride is a must...picnics are a must too! Go early to reserve your place otherwise you won't find an empty picnic table available

We have not spent much time in Brackenridge Park recently, but decided to spend an hour walking the trails last Sunday. The City has done quite a bit of improvements in the park. We walked the loop twice. It was very pleasant, and encouraging to see so many families out and about!

The friends I was staying with were anxious to take me to Brackenridge Park because they wanted us to have a ride on the little train. Unfortunately, although we heard its whistle in the distance, we never saw it - let alone have a ride on it. However, there's a lot to see in the park, including several sculptures, and... More

We decided to pack a lunch & have a picnic @ the park. We first rode the train which the kids (6 & 3) loved! After that we went to the Japanese Tea Garden-(see separate review). We then found a shady spot & had our lunch. It was still pretty hot but we enjoyed the scenery. There are lots of... More

Brackenridge Park is just lovely. I could just sit there for hours and listen to the wind and watch the train go by. Even my young son could not resist its pull and sat by the river just to watch the ducks swim by.

Awesome park to explore with a date or little ones. We took the miniature train around the park from the zoo and had a great time. The conductor / tour guide was very good and seemed to love his job. Great time for kids and a really unique thing to do. Also right near the tea gardens which are great... More

My first visit to this Park since I moved to San Antonio just under 3 years ago. I enjoy running and I can see that there are many trails in which you can walk, hike or run. I also love the fact that it is bordering the zoo which allows you to enjoy all of the birds that fly back... More
