Since then, the horn collection has grown to more than 4000, and is now part of a museum that also includes wildlife exhibits, a wax museum, a re-creation of the saloon, a curio shop, and an arcade. « less

After reading reviews on this site and others we made a special effort to get to the Buckhorn Saloon & Museum when we were in San Antonio and were very disappointed. The bar is very old & rustic and the place has an 'old west feel', but everything seemed dirty and unkept. We enjoyed a beer at the bar and... more

I enjoyed the Texas Ranger part of the museum and lunch in the saloon was just ok. We paid $50 for 2 adults and 1 child for both museums. The Buckhorn part was just a bunch of stuffed dead animals from all over. There are a lot of them actually in the saloon so unless you really like mounted animals... more

The Buckhorn is a terrific family attraction. It is unlike any museum you have ever visited. The food is great. The service and friendly faces are refreshing. There is so much to do. There is an arcade room for the kids, live entertainment while you eat, and a gift shop. The biggest treat of all are the museum exhibits. Totally... more

The stuffed animals and antlers were really cool, especially to the kids who were with me (ages 5 to 18). The food is average and not over-priced. A good place to take a lunch break between touring the city. more

I ordered the BBQ Burger and it was good but nothing special. The fries were good. The service was VERY slow although there was only five people in the saloon. I recommend just ordering a drink at the bar and eating elsewhere. more

We did not tour the museum here, just ate at the saloon. There was no long line, we ordered, and they called our number in 15-20 minutes. We were there around 12:30, but it was crowded when we left. They have great burgers here... not really much service to write about... A step up from--- well, maybe two steps up... more

We went for lunch on Thursday 7/24 and it was absolutely awful. To start, we were told that there would be a 30-45 minute wait when we ordered our food, which was fine with us because it was 1:00 and the place was busy. At around 2:45 we finally got our food. We were not the only ones who had... more

This place is loaded with stuff made out of antlers and more. It has the old west feel and the upstairs features a great museum. Some memorable things in here includes oddities- I seem to remember a two headed sheep and more. It was nice, not a must see, but definitely a good stop if you go by the Alamo.... more

We loved this place! It was a very impressive & neat collection of animals. Just about any animal you can think of is displayed here. Not only that but they even have a greeter man who looks like they got him out of a time machine from the old west. Everything in this place was so cool. I would definitely... more
