You can't visit San Antonio without walking through the River Walk. We also took a boat ride, which was very informative and entertaining as well. There are plenty of great places to stop and have a drink or bite to eat while people watching and enjoying the surroundings.

I've been to San Antonio at least a half a dozen times to visit family, and no visit is ever complete without a visit to the River Walk. The water-front atmosphere is just unparallelled with any other place I've seen. I highly recommend taking a boat tour since walking the length of the river in the Texas heat is a... More

The River Walk is one of the things San Antonio is famous for besides the Alamo. It is very interesting to walk though and ride the barges through, then select which restaurant you want to dine at.

The Riverwalk is synonymous for most people with the six or seven blocks of restaurants and shops but in reality it is much more. Explore up or downstream from the entertainment district for peaceful urban interludes with interpretive signs, bird life, and along the Mission Reach, the incomparable Spanish Missions. If plodding through masses of humanity in the heat and... More

The River Walk is sure a unique and beautiful attraction. It was neat way to get from one attraction to another. There are lots of really neat historic buildings and attractions along the way. I would suggest catching one of the river boats. The boats take you up and down the river pointing out the different historic areas and explaining... More

I was pleasantly surprised at what a nice place this is to walk around and explore. I walked several afternoons and nights, finding Tues - Wed to be much less crowded than Fridays and Saturdays.

Although most of the tourists seemed to be on the main Riverwalk area with most of the bars & restaurants, we enjoyed the quieter area near the King William Historic District. Shaded walking paths with some great architectural gems and some places in need of repair. Definitely worth the walk!
