This was quite unique, it was a hot day and enjoyed the walk in the cool of the trees it is a very pretty place with lots of twists and turns. There are a lot of places to eat either inside or out along the river which is what we did. Very relaxing to see the boats/barges go by. The... More

We enjoyed it, a lot of the restaurants looked a bit rough during the day but you don't notice that at might. Busy and loud in the evenings but a nice walk at any time. Great for people watching too! Didn't get on a boat ride unfortunately by they looked like fun! Be prepared for a bit of heavy lifting... More

Took the boat tour, it was well worth the 6.00 (senior discount). About 45 minute ride down the scenic river. We lunched at Rita's (Mexican food), the only drawback to the place was the pigeons who flew in via the open front doors and were walking between the tables:-(

Had a great time, but one restaurant's credit card machine went out while we were at lunch. Luckily there was a CVS right next door, so I pulled some cash out of the ATM.

The River Walk is a must see and do when in San Antonio. It is a unique feature of downtown with plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from. I had the opportunity to explore the river trail south of downtown and enjoyed the sites of the city and nature along the trail. I was up early and enjoyed the... More

I liked all the walking involved because I was able to get a lot of exercise in the 4 + days we were there. There was any kind of restaurant you could think of and they are all very good. I feel sure if any of them were not good they wouldn't survive. There were a lot of trees and... More

When we first got to the River Walk (out the back door of our hotel) we were disappointed - it seemed no better than any other shlocky tourist trap area. Hooters. Joe's Crab Shack. A Harley-Davidson store. (Really?) Add in all the junky souvenir shops and that about put the icing on the cake for us. And no WAY were... More

I'm always here wandering around to eat, window shop, or just take a nice stroll. Great food, atmosphere, layout, and just a beautiful and charismatic part of the lovely downtown.
