My 3 1/2 year old daughter loved it. Lots of animals to see. She really liked the variety of monkeys. Staff was also friendly and helpful.
I love the San Antonio Zoo. The exhibits showcases the animals in a mannet that is humane. The animals are gorgeous and interesting to observe. There are plenty of benches to rest and food/drink is readily available. I try to visit this zoo at least once a year.
We enjoyed a late afternoon before the zoo closed during a cool and sunny day. Although the zoo is under some construction, we managed to see a lot of beautiful and exotic animals. It is well laid out with many exhibits to see. We enjoyed the bears, large cats, kangaroos, exotic birds, elephant, hippos, snakes, chimps and flamingos to name... More
After hearing all of the bad stuff about this zoo, from PETA in particular, I was surprised by how good the zoo actually was. The new Africa part is absolutely stunning! The exhibits are natural and the animals look happy. I went mainly because I wanted to have a look at Lucky the elephant and record some of her behaviour.... More

My husband and I spent between 4 and 5 hours wandering around observing the animals and taking photos. The cat area had an interesting assortment of animals, some of which we'd never seen before. I especially... More
The admission price is very fair. We usually buy the year family pass. Lots of easy to see exhibits. It is Texas so it does get hot in the summer so be sure to go early while the animals are up and active and it's still relatively cool. Off season is uncrowded and much more pleasant. Parking nearby and it's... More
Although the zoo is undergoing major construction, we still managed to spend a good 5 hours here. The monkeys, tiger cubs, and kangaroos were highlights for us. The cafeteria food is okay, with the usual kid-friendly options and some pre-packaged salads for the grown-ups. If you time it wrong, as we did, you be in line a long time. We... More
Want a great Zoo experience, visit the San Antonio zoo and you won't be dissappointed. Kids can even ride the miniture train in Brackenridge park.
A wonderful zoo. Extremely clean. Staff, both informative and helpful. Critters appeared happy and active. Reptile house was superb - great snakes and lizards. Baby tigers were spectacular. This is one of the best zoos I've ever visited
