It was a nice zoo, nothing exceptional compared to some other zoos. Staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the train ride! It looks like they were remodeling sections of the zoo.

It was very large, larger than I expected. That means it had loads of different animals to see. And what I liked most about it was that the animals seemed cheerful and happy, they had nice living conditions.

San Antonio Zoo has always been one of my favorite places. The parking is complimentary, and right near the entry of the zoo. Do ride the train. Our kids alwas enjoy it. Avoid going midday in the summer if you can. The best time to go is right when they open early morning. To bet the crowds, and the heat.... More

I rated this zoo as average in comparison to other zoos we have visited across the country. It is a very nice size zoo especially if you have small children. The layout was nice and map was easy to follow. There was a nice selection of animals and they appeared well cared for. The rhino was one of the more... More

From town take Sightseer Special bus #7 to the zoo. There were many unique animals. If you love birds, you will love all they have. The reptile aquariums were outstanding. I did not rate a five due to the presentation of some of the outside exhibits and the fact that there were no concessions open except one restaurant. We enjoyed... More

Cost for adult was $12 but our bus pass gave us $2 off. We arrived when the zoo opened, which I would advise. Get over to the hippo pen by 10AM to see them let out of their enclosure. It's one of the only times you'll see them on land as they'll most likely spend the remainder of the day... More

I liked the selection of animals and the care taken with a number of the exhibits. The descriptive panels for each animal were well done, albeit with a bit of overuse of the exclamation mark. It's very kid friendly. Negatives are the sort of thing you will hear about most zoos - some of the monkey cages are real "old... More

We went to the zoo pretty early and were there for five hours. There was plenty to do and lots to look at. It was a really easy walk and lots of fun. I would say as far as price goes it was pretty average for a zoo. We took my three year old son there and had a blast!... More

What to say about the zoo, other than, kids love it. Very informative kids section and the butterfly area is great. The map was easy to guide and enclosures were kept up well... We were blessed with the added excitement of seeing a loose monkey trying not to be caught by the keeper.. lol.. it was pretty fun. Over all... More

We went to the San Antonio Zoo on Christmas Day. The zoo proudly boasts that it is open 365 days a year and it is. With few tourist options open in San Antonio on Christmas, we went to the zoo. The day was sunny and brisk, and warmed by noon to a comfy temperature. The zoo was covered up in... More
