Salem is not just about witches. Salem was once the richest ports in America and created Americas first millionaire. They have an exact replica of one of the ships that used to make the trips from China to America. You can even tour it for free when its open to he public. You can also walk out on the pier... More

I love Salem, I go often. I like to see all the History and read up on it. I also go at night on the Salem Paranormal tour. I've got LOTS of awesome pictures!

You'll find Pickering Wharf on Salem Harbour, and offers beautiful views of the boats on the harbour (not the open ocean). There are a good number of interesting and shops and restaurants, which makes it just about impossible to imagine the early history of the place where early voyagers supplied the area from the harbour. Good place to do some... More

This is a fun place to walk around, see the ships and plenty of shops. There is something here for everyone and it is not scary like other attractions that will give the kids nightmares.

We visited in February the day before a major blizzard. The Friendship was beautiful even while docked and the view was incredible.

the ship was an excellent history lesson, the historians on the ship told about different aspects of the early shipping and dangers on this ship. lots of photo ops, clean and made you stop and think how difficult the voyages were to bring supplies to the harbor

The wharf hosts several fun shops and a few waterfront restaurants. Some shops are closed in the off-season but there's a great spice shop that's worth the (short) walk.

There are a good number of interesting and quirky shops to visit. There are also some good restaurants. Finz is very good but on the expensive side. Capt's and Victoria Station are good and less expensive. VS has a great outdoor eating area.
