I enjoyed my visit, Pickering is typical to many other cities, except on a smaller scale. Small shops, seafood restaurants, etc. More

Looks like this area has been much livelier in the past. However, at this point about a third of the spaces are empty, there are several places with peeling paint and maintenance needs. Not much reason to walk through. More

Sitting outside at Victoria Station for lunch looking out onto the bay is a great time! It is a short walk from all the other famous attractions. More

We have been to Salem many times and always enjoyed going to Pickering Wharf. This time was so disappointing and sad. Many of the shops are gone and the whole area had a neglected feel. Paint peeling, buildings run down. I hope those in charge of maintaining the wharf will do something about the sad state of affairs there. More

Place is a little run down. Don't waste any time at Victoria Station- way down hill- salad bar is disgusting now-Capt's is also terrible. 62 Wharf is great- Finz is good. Try to move past the wharf and hit Caffe Paolina or Greenland Cafe More

To be away from the hustle and bustle of Essex Street, just walk a little way to the Wrharf. There are nice shops, the most delicious candy shop, and restaurants. More

So much to do in Salem, MA. Once you park everything is within walking distance on beautiful bricked side walks. Pickering wharf which has small shops and restaurants. Open spaces to walk your dog or let the kids fly a kite or run around. Peabody Essex Museum is down the street with different art exhibits. Nice parks near the ocean,... More
