Recently stayed in this city park (with camping and RV spaces). The location is a little dodgy as you have to drive past both the city's power station and water treatment plants to get to the park, but that being said, the views are fantastic once you arrive. The park rents out edges of the parking lot as RV spots... More

Saw a young group of Shakspeare actors performing on an open stage beneath plush trees; it was wonderful. Beyond that area were high bluffs overlooking the water. You can walk on paths leading up there to take in the breathtaking view, and stand or sit to watch boats speed by under an expansive sky and billowing clouds. Many other curvy... More

Winter Island is very scenic and nicely managed. The amenities are somewhat limited, but well kept. The office staff and gatekeepers are knowledgeable, competent, and very nice, taking time to talk with visitors and provide appropriate guidance. I stayed at the park for the allowed 14 days and enjoyed it thoroughly. After Labor Day, the park allows camping without time... More

I am a lighthouse enthusiast so we had to go to see the lighthouse in Winter Island Park. It was low tide in the morning when we arrived and the water was starting to rise for high tide at noon (in about 3 hours), It was very interesting to watch the water rise which it did amazingly fast. We took... More

We actually stayed here in our RV. A nice location with beautiful views of the water and a lighthouse. The City Trolley even comes in the park so you can buy tickets in the office and go into town. A clean park, clean restrooms, nice place for a picnic.

Great park with onsite camping (did not camp but would like to get back and spend a weekend). Has a boat launch if needed. Like the old fort, ammo bunker and hanger a lot. Easily hike able/bike able from downtown salem.

It was beautiful and peaceful. I enjoyed looking out at the lighthouse and the water. It was so serene, I didn't want to leave!

Camping at Winter Island, can't say it's a beautiful campground. Cute, small beach. Showers right next to it. Lovely marina. But it is a parking lot. We wanted to visit Boston as part of our trip to the east coast. Ferry service (or train service) from Salem to Boston is exceptional and Winter Island is VERY VERY CLOSE. Though it... More

It's a fun place with lots of places for picnicking and camping. There's a nice waterfront and some great places to wander around as well as a great lighthouse to check out.
