Learned about this place while on a trolley tour so we came back for a closer look. Beautiful views from the beach. One of the camp sites is actually the site of the last public execution. Fort Pickering is also located on Winter island and is worth a visit.

Have camped here several times while visiting Salem. Close to downtown and convienient trolly service if you do not mind the view of the power plant. the place has really been suffering from neglect over the years

Great for camping & the view of the sunsets are amazing! The only dislike that I can think of is that they don't have sewer hookups but is no problem as the plant is down the road to dump

This is a lovely stretch of land that offers magnificent views, cooling breezes, and the illusion that you are far, far away from everything, when you are really in the heart of a metropolitan area. It is a great place for nature watching and a picnic; well worth the trip.

Pretty marina area with a great overview on the other side across the bridge to Beverly, MA. The camping area is small, but clean looking. Lots of boats are docked there.

We booked a spot for our 21 foot travel trailer a few months ago for Columbus Day Weekend. Easy check-in and friendly staff. SMALL spaces. About 15 feet. If you have a camper with slide-outs, it's going to be TIGHT!!! Good water pressure and safari field was nicely maintained. Dumpsters not marked on map, so we left our large bag... More

Winter Island has it all for the traveler. We camped in October which was a little cold but they have wonderful showers. You can't beat the view from the Island and the stories you hear there are frightfully fun. Great camping for the entire family.

How beautiful it was up there we saw this as part of the trolley tour. If I were a camper I'd come right here. The harbor was beautiful.

My family & I have been around to a lot of campgrounds....From the Carolina's to Texas to Florida then back home to Salem (lived here when I was young) Winter Island was a wonderful surprise as I did not know this park was here before. Camping out and hearing the ocean waves from our site was so relaxing. The beach... More

My husband and I made our first visit out to Winter Island a couple days ago and fell in love with the park! We went on the trail past the lighthouse, some bunkers, Pebble Beach, and Waikiki Beach, then we went back to the lighthouse to watch the sunset. It was quiet and beautiful. We think next time we go... More
