Great small theater

Love stopping here to see a movie. Very much a throw back to the theaters I remember growing up. Make fresh popcorn unlike today's big chains and it's decent price.

CinemaSalem is a small movie house, with three full size screens and one small screen . That one is often used for locally made documentaries and other non-Hollywood fare. The big screens typically show first run features that can be found in other theaters, but occasionally they show one-night-only presentations of classic films (and by "classic" I mean Goonies, Monster... My husband and I took our two children to Salem to see the sights, learn some history and be a part of the atmosphere in town. We saw online information about the Salem Haunted Magic Show so we figured we'd take the kids and kill 2 hours. First, it's in a movie theater but the production is not a film,... More

I have been a long time patron of this movie theater and always choose it over competing theaters. I love the size, the popcorn with real butter and the customer service. Today that service went above and beyond my expectations. The start of the film The Hobbit was delayed due to an issue with the projector. The film started 15... More

The CinemaSalem is an old movie house with various theaters. We saw the movie '1692' in a very small theater that probably sat 30 people. It wasn't cheap, we paid $9 a person. The movie was very short but it was in 3D which, of course, is fun. Our two teenagers actually stayed awake and I think learned something. It... More

A most worthwhile activity to gain a well-produced understanding of the times and the fear experienced then. It is like a contemporary documentary. It lays to rest many of the misconceptions of what happened in Salem. Highly recommend as the first thing to do when visiting Salem. This was the highlight of our visit there, which doesn't say a lot... More

I went to see the History of Halloween in 3D-it seemed very silly and in a tired old theater. I would spend my time elsewhere!

Fun and intimate theatre. I loved that it looked as though it was a bunch of college students that did it...but I don't know how well the Celtic woman went over being a tranny and all. Definitely learned new things...and it was in 3-D! :)

Cinema Salem was okay, but "Hysteria", more like Hysterical. First of all the "illusionist/magician", was very obviously walking around the lobby trying to eavesdrop on conversations to get information about the audience prior to the show. I know this is a normal practice, but he kind of blew it by not being subtle. During the show he was awkward, unpracticed,... More

The CinemaSalem is a tired, old movie house in a mall that has seen a better day. We saw the movie 1692 and the theater we were in could not have been much bigger than 10x12 and have more than 15 chairs in it. The screen seemed like it was a 65" TV screen. I'm sure it was bigger but... More
