Capture the historic spirit of Salem's yesteryear on this award winning, daily, 90-minute walking tour. Hear stories of intriguing people, discover the truth about Salem's infamous Witch Trial Hysteria, experience the authentic story of Salem's most notorious murder, and find out what locations were used in the movie Hocus Pocus.

More than fifteen stops dot the tour route, including Salem's old jail -- a one-time residence for the Boston Strangler, the site of the Old Witch Gaol (prison), the Witch Trial Memorial, the field where Giles Corey was pressed to death, and the cemetery where a Witch Trial magistrate is buried.

Thoroughly enjoyed history and anecdotes in this tour. I was oblivious about the Hocus Pocus movie connection so I wasn't touring to see movie locations. My teenage nephew thought those were cool, however. What I enjoyed was the mutual-faceted approach to the history and sights of Salem. If you want "all witches all the time" haunted hokum this might not... More

Susan was amazing. She has a sincere passion for Salem, and gives you an amazing amount of information in the tour. Gives you a lot of Salem history, not just the witch hysteria stuff. Very reasonably priced. Can't recommend her enough.

Susan and her husband Rich greeted myself and my husband on Essex street at the beginning of our tour to tell us we were the only people booked on the tour so we were getting a private tour! It is low tourist season for them so we were surprised (but happy) they didn't cancel that evening's tour! We had an... More

Susan was a brilliant tour guide and really enthusiastic and knowledge. We had a great time and she really kept us in suspense with her story telling. The weather was very cold but Susan and Richard thought of everything bringing us hand warmers to ease the frostbite. It is definitely the best tour we've been on while I'm the states.... More

First of all the tour is amazing and the guides couldn't be better! My boyfriend and I booked the tour on a thuesday evening and we had a private tour. It was freezing but it was worth it! It was very informative and the stories that they told were very compelling! Highly recommend this tour!

Took this tour a long time ago **** (Summer 2000)**** and it's still going strong, so that tells you something, right away. The Metzgers keep the numbers small, so tour is very accessible as well as diligently researched - no made up stories here! They have a knack for interacting with the group and you can learn so much ,... More

Susan and Rich were excellent tour guides! My party arrived about 30 minutes late, which was an error on our part, but as soon as we joined the group Susan and Rich didn't skip a beat in adding bits of review without boring the other guests, while allowing us to catch up. Rich was so kind in offering us hand... More

This tour was the perfect blend of Salem history and mystery. My boyfriend and I were in Salem for a day during off season. We called the morning of to book a tour and made a reservation (5 p.m. was the only time). When our guides Susan and Rich arrived, they informed us that the other party wasn't going to... More

The tour hosts are a lovely couple of passionate historians who can really read a group of people. My group (a dozen late 20's professionals on vacation) was a little rowdy but our guides were total pros. They delivered a charismatic performance that kept us interested throughout. I especially enjoyed how well they improvised along with some of our cheeky... More

We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Salem. Susan and Rich are very knowledgeable on the history of Salem and the Witch Trials. We learned a lot and in a fun way! Their passion for the town really shows through! Thanks for a great start to our visit!
