We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Our guide Susan was extremely passionate about Salem and its rich history. We learned a lot of information about Salem. Our 8 year old son was mystified by her tour as well. I highly recommend going on this tour. You won't be sorry!!!!

Entertaining and informative walking tour of Salem by Susan Metzger. She touched on the history of the area and gave detailed examples along the way. Her talk was filled with history of Salem and she was also quite humorous. We loved that Susan told stories about people that lived in the town and she gave great detail about their life... More

Susan was very informative, if a bit dry at times. The tour was well thought out and organized. Since it was Salem, I expected a bit more of the ghost side of things but as Susan said she doesn't focus on that aspect. If this is what you are looking for one of the other operators would be a better... More

What a fun and educational tour. The tour guides were fun and engaging. They were both very knowledgeable about the area and the history of Salem. Unlike some of the other tours that focus on the "ghost" theme, I would feel very comfortable taking younger children on this tour (if they can walk for an hour to an hour and... More

This is the only 5-star review of what I've done in Salem so that means something. I was traveling with a 4 year old and 9 year old and wanted a walking tour with history and maybe some spooky elements, but nothing that would freak my younger kid out. Susan was quickly and helpfully responsive to my email before my... More

We all truly enjoyed this tour! I wish I had taken a pad and paper so I could outline the things that Susan and Rich talked about because I would have liked to read more on some of the people/places. I also wish I had taken the tour earlier in my visit to Salem (we left the next morning) because... More

Hocus Pocus tours is run by Susan and Rich, they are a very nice couple. We walked around Salem and they gave us lots of information on past and present goings on. Our group was small, 8 people, so it was easy to interact with our guides. They were happy to answer all our questions, they are passionate about sharing... More

At random we stopped at Salem as we were driving from New York to Bar Harbor, and thought it would be an interesting one night stopover. We are so glad we stopped! I had seen Hocus Pocus walking tours in the Lonely Planet Guide, so when we got to Salem we went to the Viitor Centre and grabbed a brochure... More

Susan and Rich provide an experience of Salem that is not to be missed. Their knowledge and passion of the sights and events is extraordinary. We strolled the city, learned some history, and were thoroughly engaged by this couple. I recommend this tour 110 percent!

A very historical based, informative and entertaining tour. Run by a nice couple who really know their stuff. Very willing to expand on what they know when asked questions....they even stayed with us after the tour ended to give us more information. Would highly recommend this tour to all ages.
