This was the 1st of Harold Bunham's schooners we've sailed on. It was a blast, pick a good breezy day. Capt'n Mike is great and very knowledgeable about the original Privateer Fame and the war of 1812.

The company would not take reservations for those who purchased a groupon. We called in advance to check on availability and was unable to reach a live person. The recording stated there was plenty of seats available. After driving in circles trying to find parking and trying to find the little shack to purchase tickets we got there ten minutes...

I would never say anything negative about a customer. I only ask that anyone who has read this review to be sure to consider all our overwhelmingly positive reviews on TripAdvisor and on Yelp! and on Zerve, where there are over 60 *unedited* reviews of the schooner.

We took an 8 hour cruise on the Fame from Salem to Boston to view the Tall Ships. Capt Mike and his crew were so hospitable and a wealth of historic information it was great. If you ask Capt Mike will give you the recipe for the ginger cookies.
We sailed the Fame Labor day weekend for the Gloucester Schooner Festival "Sail-by." What a great trip! We made our way up the coast to Gloucester Harbor and participated in the schooner parade. There were at least a dozen ships of all sizes, sailing around the harbor and shooting off their "canons" as the challenged each other to the race....

Captain and crew are helpful and knowledgable about the area and history. Especially fun if you do the adult rum cruise. Day cruises are relaxing and if you ask, you can usually help sail. They have snacks Alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages but feel free to bring something aboard.
Luckily we had a Groupon for one of the fares for the Schooner Fame. I would give this a B-.Kids on the Schooner were bored to death, even though a couple of them did get to steer for a bit. Being a Salem resident, I guess I expected more. We went out into the harbor and circled 3 or 4...

This is a nice and relaxing 2-hour tour of the Salem Harbor. It's on an old historic and picturesque sailing vessel. They offer cold beverages (i.e. beer, soda, water) to make the trip that more enjoyable. I'm not sure if kids would find it as interesting, but as an adult I appreciated a cold beer, as we sailed about the...

The entire trip was wonderful. The kids gor to hoist the sails and even help steer the tiller. Very interactive - great for kids and just a wonderful experience!
Took my two girls on this boat today and it was a great day on the water. The boat is super clean and the crew/owner are wonderful and very knowledgeable. My only regret is that the trip went by so quickly! The owner stated that the boat was made to be smooth so if you are prone to seasickness you...

This tour made our day and our visit to Salem, refreshing, relaxing, fun and you get to sail the boat for a while and watch a real pirates cannon explode! The captain and the staff were all so nice and fun! We recommend 100%!
