We visited this memorial at night just after we finished our candlelit tour explaining the whole history. It really put things in perspective. We needed our candles to read each name and date on the individual stone benches but that just made it all the more memorable. This was a very touching site. People had lit candles, in memory deceased, at each of the names. Its a shame that people go to such drastic lengths in the name of religion. more

At sunset, walking thru the memorial, it created a feeling of great awareness of the emotions of the soul as he/she was about to face death. The inscribed quote at the foot drifts off in mid sentence on purpose, giving the reader a sense of abruptness that ended many lives in their prime. Do NOT miss this in the evening. more
