I am a fan of this pirate museum. It is guided by a witty pirate tour guide and has alot of good information. It held my interest and I walked away happier for going. It is one of the few tours in Salem led by a knowledgeable host. more

The New England Pirate Museum should be a stop on any Salem trip! The tour guide we had was wonderful...he was friendly, intriguing, and definitely knew his pirates! As he led the tour, he gave the story and history of each pirate and welcomed comments and questions with gusto. In addition to being informative, he was a very nice guy... more

The New England Pirate Museum isn't a museum in the classic sense. It's it a bit more like walking through the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney World, which works for and against the place as an attraction. They deliver some cool pirate facts and don't make an attempt to sugarcoat the nature of piracy, which I appreciated. For... more

Out of the three tours we did on the same day we went to this one, this was the best. Skip the Witch History Museum and the Witch Dungeon Museum - don't but the combo pass. The guide was energetic and funny even if the scenes were in need of repair/updating, they were worlds better than the scenes at the... more

I brought my 9 year old son to the Pirate Museum In Salem last year - and it was a big hit. Yes, it was a tourist trap and yes, it was wonderfully hokey, but we had a great time. We found treasures in the gift shop-his t-shirt was a big hit at school, and I was able to pick... more

We were stoked to visit Salem and experience the history of the town. We bought the combo ticket for the Witch Museum, Witch Dungeon, and Pirate Museum. First of all, THESE ARE NOT MUSEUMS!! The "Pirate Museum" was the best because it had approximately 2 artifacts and some reproductions of artifacts. The rest was mannequins dressed up in second-hand pirate... more

Everyone knows the story about the Salem witch trials, but you'll be very surprised what you never knew about the pirates of New England. Their story is something you've probably never seen in movies or documentaries. The staff here seems to love the place. My tour guide looked amazingly like Oliver Bloom, and was a talented actor as well. If... more

This is not a museum although stations have descriptive documents to read. It's a tour. You are taken by character guide through dimly lit rooms that are decked out in pirate artifacts and lore. For wheelchair folks, at one point in the tour, you must take a side door outside, have someone push your chair up a short but steep... more

This attraction was time well spent, and quite informative. Recommened for pirate lovers and just the general tourist as well. Go to this museum about mid-day. The cast is very good. more

We took in the tour of the New England Pirate Museum in Salem, MA., and I must say, though I am no fan of the pirate "lore", I did enjoy our little tour through the museum, mostly due to the wonderful dry wit of our tour guide. He was quick with the one-liners, and colorful with his delivery. For that... more
