I first went to the Gallery in the Sun more than 20 years ago with my mom who was a DeGrazia fan. I was impressed with the gallery even more on my recent trip in March. They have expanded the gallery rooms (formerly just storage rooms) making wonderful use of the natural light and desert setting. It's a must see... More

We saw this advertised, decided to give it a try on our overnight stay in Tucson, so glad we did! The gallery and grounds are lovely, the art and story of Ted DeGrazia is fascinating and we can see why it's on the National Register of Historic Places. We took so many pictures, to remember it by. P.S.... It should... More

Drive north on Swan Road in Tucson until you drive into the Foothills. The artist Ted De Grazia built this sanctuary, much of it himself, at a time when the area was in the middle of nowhere. The city has grown up around the gallery, but the character of the place remains. The purpose, per De Grazia himself, was so... More

De Grazia's Gallery in the Sun grounds includes the chapel that he built. The wall, to the right of the alter have these beautiful angels on them, and the ceiling is open to the sky. It is a very peaceful place to visit. More

When I moved to Tucson in 1979, my front door of my apartment faced DeGrazia's back yard. I visited him every Sunday...He was a very interesting man. He would sit in the gallery and sign anything you purchased, he would take time to chat with you and when you returned he remembered you. I enjoyed him very much. I'd bring... More

The Gallery, rustic yet beautiful, located below the Santa Catalina Mountains was once a homestead of Ted DeGrazia. He built areas for the Indians to work and live, a chapel and a gallery. Artist Ted DeGrazia was a colorful fiqure in the Old Pueblo. The extensive exhibit of artwork, some merry, some dark and many depicting the way of life... More

I hadn't read anything about this museum/gallery prior to coming to Tuscon however while there I picked up a local monthly magazine and saw this attraction highlighted as a "must thing to do." I was not disappointed. De Grazia's art work is so very representative of life in the southwest and highlights the native Indian culture and is very moving.... More

I love De Grazia's art and impressionistic art, in general, so this art gallery was an enchanting gem. There is much of De Grazia's art to see, displayed in a beautiful and picturesque setting in the foothills. There is a beautiful chapel and grounds as well. I wish I had allowed more time for the visit -- I could easily... More

Born and raised in Arizona but never took the time to see this, moved away many years ago and returned for a visit and came here for the afternoon. Wonderful display of his art and the home and gardens. Admission was free, lots to see with his art and the gardens. Nice little gift shop Worth the stop More
