DeGrazia was a prolific artist who seems best known for his Indian children paintings. They never really did much for me, . After i visited the gallery my thoughts are completely turned. His other work, from depictions of Indian myths to the stations of the cross are powerful and thought provoking. The gallery grounds are delightful to walk thru and the... More

Walking around the grounds buildings was great. The people working there were so knowledgeable and we eavesdropped on a guide who's presentation was really lively. The De Grazia's produced a wide range of art and used different medias so there really was something for everyone to see.

Ettore "Ted" Degrazia led a very interesting life and his life influenced both his work and the architecture of the buildings you will see at the Gallery in the Sun. I am giving this review 4 stars rather than 5 because on the day of our visit the DVD player, which shows a film about DeGrazia'a life and work was... More

I read about this gallery on Tripadvisor and decided to check it out. It's a hidden gem! Love the gallery, chapel, and his residence. If you go, make sure you visit the garden courtyard in the middle of the gallery.

This is a great little gallery depicting the artist's history and the story behind his paintings. The gallery grounds include the main building which is devoted to the artist's, Ettore (Ted) DeGrazia, paintings and snippets of his history, a chapel DeGrazia built which is devoted to 'Our Lady of Guadalupe' and another small exhibit building which features other artist's works.... I wasn't familiar with DeGrazia specifically before coming here. My mom lives in Tucson now and highly recommended we visit the gallery. Even though she's been here numerous times she said it is absolutely worth going to again. And I can see why! It is adsolutely beautiful here. It's not just about the art, but about the compound itself and... More

I purchased a De Grazia painting in the late '70's, and have always loved it. So I jumped at the chance to see his studio again on this trip to Arizona. It was extensive with many rooms to wander through. There are many prints available for sale, and a few items such as t-shirts, mugs, trivets, mugs, etc.

You may or may not appreciate the unique art of DeGrazia. He was a versatile artist and I love his work. But if you come only for the art you might miss the evidence of DeGrazia's reverence for the desert and it's people. The house he built and lived in is open for visitors. Large photographs show him in the... More

I visited my sister, who had recently moved to Tucson, and we found the De Grazia gallery in a AAA tour book so went to check it out. No fee, but they do appreciate donations. I'm not a really big fan of his paintings, but the adobe buildings are very charming and the grounds are enchanting. Be sure to visit... More

I have been drawn to the De Grazia Gallery in the Sun for many years. It is always on the top of my list to visit every time I return to Tucson. I love how it feels like stepping back in the time when it was the residence and studio of De Grazia. His little house is mesmerizing. His love... More
