I stumbled in here to take in a movie during a couple of free hours and could not have been happier. Great staff, lovely movie, nice space and - when I got out of the movie - I had a delicious sandwich! If I ever find myself back in RI, I would look forward to going back!

This place is very cool and different from any classic café. It's got its own cinema, and cinema themed locals. The panini they serve is fantastic! Only draw back is my wish for a more enthusiastic and friendly staff.

This is a fun way to view a movie. Usually featuring clectic shows, easy-going crowd in the heart of Providence.

I have been going to the Cable Car Cinema since the '80's. It is an art house cinema, playing the lesser known, low budget independent films. Many of the films also have an international flavor. Before the show you can grab a little something to eat or drink at the cafe. You will always find a place to sit down,... More

I LOVE the Cable Car. Couch seating, indie flicks, and paninis. Plus, well, wine. Especially in the winter, this is my favorite place to hide out. Have a hot chocolate and get comfortable with an intimate movie crowd. It's my favorite theatre in Rhode Island.

Great food, beverages, and movies. Order a panini, snack, and beer, take a seat in a cozy, comfortable love seat, and enjoy a top movie, all for a most reasonable price. Wonderful place to thoroughly enjoy a causal dinner and a movie. We are sure to go back (hopefully often).

now this is how a movie should be viewed. On a couch with your honey beside you and watch a nice film. A little food, some soft drinks. What a nice night out. Not a lot of money and you just have a good time. Parking at night is not bad.

Enjoy a snack before the show, grab a beer, some popcorn and relax to watch an interesting movie! Be sure to check out what's playing - lots of sundance movies. Very friendly staff!

This a an independent movie house/coffee shoppe/snack bar across the river near Brown. They show an offbeat selection of films. This is a very hip spot! Unfortunately, the film we saw this day was a New Zealand black comedy about vampires befriending humans and werewolves----just horrible! This place is a fun experience that serves an array of foods.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. There's something wonderful about being able to have a panini and a glass of wine while watching a movie in a couch seat surrounded by a small group of strangers. It's like an expanded living room mixed with a cafe and a giant screen. The biggest bummer I ever had was dreaming all day of their... More
