So much history.... Just walk around, please park the car. You won't enjoy it, if you have to drive. Oh make sure you also visit JWU. And have fun by the way.

For some reason, the day we visited Providence the river had about six inches of filthy water in it and smelled horrible. Not sure what was going on!

A nice venue for a walk through Providence, the Providence River bank boasts a path on both sides for a leisurely stroll. The recent reclamation of the area in the eastern part of the city has drawn new residents, restaurants and shops. New life has emerged with more people congregating for lunch or dinner or simply an opportunity to enjoy... More

I took a river cruise on the River and it was so peaceful and beautiful. You get a real prospective of the area from the water. I learned so much about the area on this trip.

Walking the perimeter of the river downtown is one of my favorites pastimes at any season, in any weather, and its many breathtaking scenes of history, foliage and water tickle my camera also.

The way Providence and 'the river' have been 'reborn' with WaterFire events is amazing. By all means get a schedule and visit! The area is family-safe, and full of places to see along the waterfront. Summer and early Fall are the best.

If you're looking for a great free place to take the children or your dogs for a walk, the river walk is gorgeous. Always exciting things to see and the architecture is amazing to look at.

Our church went on a tour of Providence RI and what a blessing it was. Jon Stricklin was our Driver and leader of the Tour ,a man with great wisdom and knowledge of the city, both of its history and present day living. Our tour took about tow hours with many stops to see the city up close which included... More

I took a one hour train from Boston to Providence. Visited the Brown University campus and walked around the city area. Some nice buildings and malls along the river. Enjoyed the good company.
