Providencs is a wonderful city with many attractions such as the river and the gondolas and great for a walk. Also has many great Italian restaurants in the Federal Hill section. A wonderful and easy city to walk around. If your ever in RI make sure you visit Prov. for it's many attractions and restaurants More

It is not as nice as Venice, but you can still take a gondola ride, as romantic as can be, especially during waterfire. This river defines the downtown, and it is a wonderful place to walk on sunny days. More

If you can travel to Providence and see Waterfire you will understand more about Providence. Great city easily manageable to visit and the best restaurnats around. More

Providence used to be kind of rundown, but the city made a conscious effort to rehabilitate it. A major focus was the river, which was turned into a canal-like waterway similar to what you might see in Amsterdam.
