There wasn't a single thing to complain about, I loved the entire experience and look forward to visiting again!
A wonderful college museum which is well worth a visit to Providence. There are literally tens of thousands of fine works by famous and near famous artists. Another delight is the decorative art and furnishings found in the part... More
I love the tour .. you will get so much more out of a visit if you have a guide. You will also get to enjoy some displays from local students from RISDI ... Great experience. The area where the museum is lovely. Enjoy a picnic lunch across the street in a small park.
This is a little gem with a representation of art from Egypt to the present, including India and China. Layout a little confusing, as the museum is an agglomeration of several buildings. My suggestion is to start at the top and work your way down.
Great small collection. Impressionists, Grrek and Roman art featured.
I live nearby and visit the museum frequently. The permanent collections are wonderful. I especially love the Japanese Buddha, and the porcelain monkey band (Meissen, Germany 1700's.) There are revolving exhibits as well, always something wonderful.
The college building is over several floors and like a rabbit warren but there is no signposting at all so everyone wanders around lost. It's very old with no modern facilities for presentations etc. Could do with a facelift.
