My girlfriend and I took a 4 day getaway from the east coast to see a section of the country we had never seen before - and were lucky enough to have made a spontaneous visit to the new Glacier Creek Stables (same as Sombrero Stables) after our climb up to Alberta Falls, and booked a 3 hour horseback ride.... Went with kids for first time. Horses were gentle, staff was friendly. Recommend a one hour ride versus two for a smaller group. More

Took a two-hour ride with Neil on horses Snuff and Whiskey. Whiskey had a mind of his own, but no major issues. Views were lovely, and Neil was content to let a quiet group ride quietly, which was much appreciated. Saddle-sore later, but worth it! Don’t overestimate how long you can manage, if you’re not accustomed to it. More

I've gone horseback riding before at a different location and thought to try this place. The ride and scenery was very beautiful. We saw wild life sitting on the hill. The only down part was the fact that the tour guide had an attitude and was snappy. I think he needs more fiber in his diet. I could see if... More

I don't normally rent horses, but my boyfriend gave me a 2 hour ride for my birthday. The horse look scruffy after the winter season, but they appeared to be well taken care of. The wranglers cared and took great pains to make everyone was safe. The ride we took was much much technical than for novices, but we all... More

Taking a cue from my daughter who wanted to go horseback riding, we stopped here to check it out. The staff and guide were great, the views were unbelievable, and the price was right - $35 per person for an hour ride through the edge of the mountains. They also have dinner rides. Tip your guide well for great service... More

My husband and I took our 4 and 6 year-old daughters for a one-hour ride (which was perfect for novice riders / small children). Admittedly I did not have high expectations--not knowing how our kids would do, or how enthusiastic the guides would be on a slow day in the middle of March. I would say that we were very... More

Great to be out, the guide was great and they choose your horse that works for you. Loved the view from horse back riding. More

We ride with Sombrero every year in February and have a good time. If you go in the winter wear a heavy coat and bring gloves! Our guides have always been great and the views from the trail can't be beat! More
