We were on our yearly winter vacation this year and were staying in Estes Park and decided to go snowshoeing. We went into Kirks Flyshop and booked a 3 hr trip. My husband, Ray, really didn't want to go but I persuaded him. Well, Kent took us into Rocky Mountain National Park and started our snowshoe trip. He took us... More

On Nov.18,2013 my son and I booked a fishing trip at Kirks fly shop. Our guide Ryan was super; showing us how to catch trout and answering our questions. We caught over 40 trout on this day. We thank Ryan for his extra efforts, and Kirk and his staff for all their help. Book a fishing trip at Kirks and... More

I booked the Colorado River Float trip as a birthday present for my husband. I have never been fly fishing and I really wasn't planning on doing much fishing. I went along mostly to take pictures, I figured I would get bored and even brought a book to read. Not the case, the book never saw the light of day.... More

Only a week after the devastating flood at Estes I thought that there would be no fishing to be had but I dropped into Kirks for a chat. Soon we where on the still flooding Thompson catching healthy fish after fish in the murky back eddies ! It was a great day with Kirk and particularly great to see so... More

Amazing trip. Myself and 7 of my friends (all first-timers) were geared up, and paired with expert guides for a great day of fun and adventure. We booked a 6 hour trip and I found myself wishing immediately for more. As an Arizona native, it was an especially amazing experience and I caught brown, and rainbow trout thanks to the... More

I visited Estes Park in early August together with my 13-year old son. We had booked a one day trip through Kirk's and were met by an excellent guide named Geoff. Neither of us had ever fly-fished before, but by Geoff’s excellent explanations and teaching it took little time before we actually managed to throw the flies and soon after... More

See the title - Coach Jay, Big Thompson and catching trout are great. Kirk's Fly Fishing in Estes Park provided great service and connected me with Jay and the special place on the Big Thompson. As an experienced fly caster I learned from Jay a great deal. From best way to grip and hold the rod while back-side casting to... More

Husband, 14 year old daughter, and myself went on an all day fishing trip with Chris. Caught tons of fish, learned a few new things, and just had a wonderful day. Thanks for a nice experience!

Kirks Fly Shop is the best shop in Estes, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Their selection of equipment is excellent. I booked a 4 hour wade trip and was not disappointed. I caught plenty of fish and learned some tips and tricks. I will book another trip upon my return, only next time I'll book earlier in the... More

Used Kirks for hiking one afternoon and a whole day fly fishing the next and loved it. They set us up with the same guide for both days so we got to know him really well. Although we were unable to complete the hike due to health reasons the guide took us around the park and to areas we could... More
