Very good hike, not to strenous. Tip, start at the east end in the meadows and go around to the pool not as much climbing.

This is a nice little hike which I believe is about 4.5 miles round trip, but is nice to turn into a loop by continuing past Cub Lake to the "Pool" and back to the Cub Lake trailhead via the Fern Lake trail.

Cub Lake Trail is a nice easy going trail off of Bear Lake Road that may not have enough snow in late March for snowshoeing but is an easy quiet getaway. Nice picnic tables nearby for lunch.

Winter on the trails at RMNP is quieter. We hiked to Cub Lake via the Pool and seeing the lake from this angle was quite impressive.

Went to snow-shoe, ended up with "yack tracks". Nice hike - about 7.5M round trip. Nice temps, bit muddy in spots. As always, RMNP has beauty that differs throughout the year. Always interesting to see those unprepared for hiking in CO.

This is a great hike up to Cub Lake. You can continue on then and then come back on Fawn Lake trail. The downside is its hard to find a parking spot.

Have proper footwear, jacket and rain gear, drinks and snacks. GORGEOUS! You will see elk in the fall.

Easy hike for family with kids - busy in summer and on weekends in the shoulder seasons.

A scenic trail but too rocky for my feet. Part of it looks lke the rocks of a former stream bed. Requires moderate fitness but the lower portion is flat and easily negotiable.
