Road is under repair & will be for some time, making this trip a bit rough. HA! Very rough. Narrow road, not sure it was worth the effort. More

My wife and I drove to bear lake then hiked up to Dream lake. What a trip. Everything had about 2 foot of snowpack but the trail was easy to identify and the scenery was top notch. The Cutthroat trout at Dream are very fickle but you can watch them inspect your fly and turn their nose up, the water... More

We spent the afternoon by the Lake on our recent trip to the Rockies and it is our most memorable afternoon. Breathtaking scenery, crisp alpine breeze, fun-snow-covered trails and daring squirrels! We stopped for a snack and had two adorable squirrels climb onto our laps and into our backpacks for a bite. Of course, we could not oblige, but it... More

Easily accessible for anyone to hike! Beautiful views! It took my friend and I about 20 minutes with a couple picture stops. A family or slower walkers would probably go around the lake in about 40 minutes or so. We went in mid-May, and some areas had a lot of hard packed snow to walk on - having decent hiking... More

We hiked from Bear Lake out to Emerald Lake in the snow on May 7th. At times, it was a struggle to find the trail with all the additional snow. But it was so serene, the trees were covered in snow, and it was magical. Our pictures are amazing. Very managable hike - given this was our first day out... More

It had been a long day in the park and Bear Lake was our last stop. It was a long, construction filled, ride into Bear Lake and when we arrived there wasn't anything to really see, besides the lake. We'd be in the park seeing elk, deer, big horn sheep and at Bear Lake there were no bears:) Just a... More
