Bear Lake is pretty as the picture shows the hike around the lake is quick and flat. From Bear Lake, you can access trails to other lakes. I highly recommend the extra hour and more traditional hike to get to Dream Lake. In my opinion, it is even prettier than Bear Lake. The green of the water is remarkable.

My husband and I walked around Bear head lake and on to Nymph lake. We then walked down to the Glacier Gorge Trailhead and took a hike up to Alberta Falls that was a lovely. It it good to do Bear lake first, as you will be going downhill to the Glacier Gorge Trailhead. Parking was also an issue. During... More

Our waitress told us about this place, where she brings her out of town guests. Lots of gorgeous lakes. This is July go before 8 am if you want to drive, bring water, bug spray and peanuts to feed the chipmunks or yourself. We made it to our first lake, and sat down and decided whether or not to contine... More

A simple yet beautiful hike No difficulty in the hiking. Park your car in the shuttle lot and take the bus to your hiking destination. Easy and well organized with the shuttles running like every 8 minutes.

Bear Lake is a favorite of our family and the hike around the lake is an easy hike and beautiful. If you go early in the summer or off season, this is a very serene place to sit and soak up the beauty. From Bear Lake you can take hiking trails to a number of other lakes but none are... More

Bear Lake is beautiful - as are the surrounding areas. The aspens on the way to the lake are spectacular in the fall. We rarely go to Bear Lake anymore due to the crowds and road construction that have been common the last few years.

Great starting point to explore many of the popular lake destinations in the park (i.e., Nymph Lake, Dream Lake, Emerald Lake, Hiyaha, The Loch, Mills Lake etc.). It gets very busy here in the summer time, with parking filling up early. Use the free hiker shuttle from the Park & Ride if the lot is full. The trails to the... More

Loved driving Trail Ridge Road. The outlooks were breathtaking. Saw herds of wild Elk. Played in the snow. A must do !
