Drove into the parking area and it just had a rundown look. I didn't go for a ride so no review on that. Maybe it's deceiving and the rides are nice but go to the Sombrero.
Located at the YMCA Of The Rockies, our group took a 1-hour ride through the trees and along the stream. It was great. Our guide Dylan told about various kinds of trees along the way, and the horses were all well-trained and compliant. We went back later for picture taking and observed how well these animals are cared for and... More
My daughter and I stayed at the YMCA of the Rockies. The main reason was to go horseback riding at Jackson Stables. We had a great time. The wranglers were fun and the horses are incredible. We will do this again.
We took a one-hour ride, as we could all be considered beginner riders (including 10-yr-old son). They had already given many if the "gentler" horses out to the kids in the trail ride that left before us, but our horses were pretty well-behaved. Unless you are near the front, you won't be able to make out much of what the... More
Our family took the 2 hour Moraine Park ride. It was a beautiful ride with varied terrain. We enjoyed crossing bridges, climbing up and down the rocky mountainside and the spectacular Moraine Valley. While it was the highlight of our kid's trip (ages 8 and 11), there were a few negatives. We were late in getting the ride started, so... More
We enjoyed the Glacier Basin ride with our two kids, ages 9 & 7. I was a little nervous since this was their first time riding, but the wranglers were great with them and the kids did great!! This was probably our favorite activity on our trip. The horses were very gentle and the staff was so helpful and informative!... More
This is the second year that we tried out Jackson Stables and we were not disappointed. Last year we did a two hour ride and that was a nice ride but my children who ride were disappointed because we didn't trot. This year we did a three hour ride called Cub Canyon. It was a very beautiful ride through out... More
had a great guide, Cain, was very informative. did see some wildlife, was suprised at the views, very beautiful
We were told to be at the stables 20 mins before the scheduled ride. We were, and it was more than an hour before we left. It was a large group, one child screamed through most of the trip and his father yelled at him to quit GD crying. Not so much fun, but the view was beautiful. The hayride... More
Did not stay at the Y, but rode horses at their stables, which are open to the public. The staff of young adults was excellent in every way. The wranglers were experienced riders and very skilled guides. They were very careful to explain HOW to ride and WHAT to expect in a helpful, pleasant manner. They were particularly patient and...
