We did a sunrise tour on the tundra for both photography and to see the wildlife in RMNP. Jared was exceptional in his knowledge of nature and wildlife in the area and a blast to do some photography with! He was very personable and adaptable. Next year, we hope to do a sunset tour.

Writing this a little late since we visited RMNP at the end of April 2015. Had only one day to visit & Jared definitely made the most of it for us! From asking us exactly what we wanted to get out of the tour to showing us every nook & cranny worth visiting (that were open during this time of... More

Jared provided my husband and I with the perfect individualized tour. He is very informative about the wildlife, and nature of the RMNP. He is also a photography instructor, which was a huge benefit for me. We saw female big horned sheep with their babies, female elk and babies, and a male elk on this tour. Jared provided us with... Jared delivered as expected and then some. He was extremely knowledgable, patient, accommodating and helpful. He was right on time, vehicle was comfortable, his equipment was top notch. We saw 5 bull moose, 3 cows (1 was with a baby), tons of elk including 4 huge bulls. I would highly recommend this your if you visit the Estes Park area.

Jared has a passion for sharing the incredible amount of information he has about the animals and environment of Estes Park. He took us to see many birds, elk, Highlights of who we were able to see included numerous birds,, several coyotes visiting a herd of elk in a field, and several groups of bighorn sheep on a rocky outcropping.... My young adult son and I visited Rocky Mountain National Park and the Estes, CO area for just four days in late March of 2015. We had an amazing time in all that we did, but our private tour with Jared of Yellow Wood Guiding was BY FAR the highlight of our trip! We signed up for the Winter Wildlife... More

My 4 hours hike to Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park was spectacular experience! My guide (Jared) was the most fascinating person to listen to... Any question I asked, he had a detailed explanation that was approachable and easy to understand for someone, such as myself, whose not up to date with ecology, geology, microbiology, etc. Overall, I would... Pretty much anyone can stumble across an elk in Rocky Mountain National Park. While luck helps with other animals, Jared's expertise in both wildlife behavior and camera operation makes a huge difference. We reached our goal of taking an "awesome" moose shot in the first hour of a tour--and on our own would never have spotted the rustling willows that... More

My husband and I recently went on a photography tour with Jared. Being down to one arm due to an injury, my husband got the lesson. I listened and applied what I could to my iPhone camera-one handed! Jared was extremely patient and encouraging and had great tips. He knows what he is doing so trust him. The weather was... More

Tour guide Jared took us on a snow hike up the rockies this past March 2015 while in my honeymoon. What an experience! Beautiful frozen lakes, breathtaking sites and all the information and history you desire. You won't regret taking a tour up the rockies with "Yellow Wood Guiding" :-)
