Great drive between the mountains surrounded by giant rocks..it worse the extra time to spend to go to Estes park through it..or if you have time just drive it back and forth.

The Estes Park Trail Ridge Highway 34 is a great drive from Estes Park to Grand Lake through the Rocky mountains. We did the Emerald Lake hike and then continued towards Grand Lake where we had lunch. Saw ELK in their natural habitat. Plenty of spots to stop and enjoy the magnificent views. The natural scenery is absolutely beautiful!

The Peak-to-Peak Highway should be declared a national something. It's one of the best rides in the entire country.

This is a great way for alot of non hikers to see the peaks. Great scenery from the viewpoints and the car. Nice way to see this area of the park. Really a must if you are going to do the best of the park. We traveled on a friday morning and it was not crowded. Alpine center at top... More

The drive from Estes park to Grand Lake was great. The views were great. It was relaxing to have lunch at Grand Lake before we drove back over the mountains to Estes Park.

Take your camera and expect to be surprised. I recommend both sunrise and sunset visits. We travelled heavily through the RMNP and have excellent photos of both the scenic views and the wildlife. I would probably try to go in mid September next time in order to try and catch more of the Elk and Big Horn Sheep. Definitely take... More

We especially liked the interpretive walk at the highest elevation--saw marmots, pickos and the alpine vegetation. The park rangers are so great

The drive was quite pretty. We got to snake our way over the mountainous roads with a bit of drizzle, but it was still pretty. We stopped for lunch in a sleepy little town of Nederland (I think), and had lunch at a place called Dot's Diner. Great little restaurant for a stop if you are hungry for cage free... More

I took the road to drive to Rocky Mountain national park and enjoyed some stopovers alongside the road. Beautiful rocks and creeks can be spotted when driving from Boulder to Nederland.

This trip takes you thru a lot of little towns, don't just buzz thru stop and look around and even go off the route to see other classic Colorado.
