Nice paved road with lotso pull over spots for scenic overlooks. Then I remember this gorgeous lake I think it was The Lily Lake, that we stopped at and walked around. My At&T signals were scant but radio reception was good, in case you forget your ipod etc at home like us. The fall colors were not yet prominent thru... More

Take it slow and enjoy the scenery. Just remember to pull over for those who don't have the patience to look around them and take in Mother Nature's beauties.

This is a very relaxing and scenic drive. Be sure to stop at St. Malo church, this is where the Pope visited recently.

We enjoyed this drive. Its an easy drive and quite pretty. About 10 or 15 minutes out of Estes park be sure to stop at lily lake. There's a beautiful easy 1 mile loop hike around the lake. There are also a couple of other hikes off the lake. There are restroom facilities (port-a-potty style). A great little hike for... More

We were here in April & had really nice warm weather & then it snowed when we were driving up to Rocky Mountain National Park & hiking there. It was magnificent! This drive is one not to miss if you are in this area of Colorado. Gorgeous mountain scenery & the drive isn't all that bad at all. There was... More

In the months leading up to our trip I planned out everything including the route. I kept reading that Hwy 36 from Lyons to Estes park was under construction and could lead to significant delays depending on what day and what time you decided to travel. I heard that sometimes the hwy would shut down for 15 minutes and other... More

We were headed to Estes Park from East of Denver so we opted to drive from Golden to Estes Park and check out "Peak to Peak". The road offered some beautiful views and stops along the way. If you have an extra 30-45 minuets I would recommend the drive. I would stop and see Lily Lake. It was a nice... More

You have to overcome your fear of heights when driving through the Rocky Mountain National Park but it is an extremely worthwhile way to spend a day. We saw all manner of wild animals including a full herd of elk which crossed the highway while we watched. Amazing. We saw many deer. Experienced a stop at the continental divide and... More

Did some hiking in Arapahoe and Roosevelt National Forests, drove the way several times and it's scenic indeed. St. Malo Chapel on the Rock closer to Estes Park deserves a stop - when it first appeared along the road in front of us, we thought for a moment we could be somewhere in Europe/Alps, its architecture and scenery around so...
