We love to drive the Peak to Peak Highway. It's absolutely beautiful and a fantastic alternative to I25! If you're going to the mountains to get away, why not start with the drive. Takes a little longer according to mapquest, but if you account for traffic on I25, I think it's about the same amount of time and you can... More

This drive was certainly beautiful! I suggest taking it if you are not in a rush, as it takes a couple hours! There are some parts that aren't quite "scenic", but overall it's quite a nice leisurely drive up to Estes Park from Black Hawk! The descent into Estes is particularly nice!

Best pictures of our trip, big horn sheep, elk, deer, moose, marmot and more. Stunning views. Take your time and stop at all the overlooks. Don't miss rock cut stop -- amazing views and wildlife. Take extra water -- keep hydrated!

Unlike prior years, the condition of this road has suffered. Scenery is lovely, however, and it is the shortest distance to Estes Park from elsewhere in Central Colorado

There is a reason this highway is designated a national scenic highway: its spectacular views. Although crowded for Fall foliage this road is not too heavily traveled and ofers a number of interesting sites between Nederland and Estes Park.

The views were beautiful and some parts of the road were kind of scary but if you take your time it is well worth it. We are not used to driving in mountains so it was quite an experience for us. We loved it!

I'm sure this is a great thing to do during certain times of the year, but in the summer it's fairly non-eventful. You may want to research a bit before going out of the way unless you have 3 extra hours to burn.

The Peak to Peak Highway is a wonderful stretch of road with fantastic views of the Continental Divide as well as out to the plains. Be sure and take some of the side roads to visit places like Gold Hill (where I used to live), a little town of just over 100 people with a little General Store and the... More

Drove the Peak to Peak Hwy from Estes Park to Central City. After the crowds of Estes Park, the drive was a very pleasant and calming experience, with lots of photo opportunities along the way.
