We live in Boulder & have done this drive countless times. We often taken out-of-towners on this drive. We do the loop going up Boulder Canyon to Nederland, and then join the Peak-To-Peak going towards Estes. Fabulous mountain views. The road is not narrow (as others have said), and it is well maintained. This route from Boulder to Estes takes... More

Take this drive for sure if you are in the area. Road is a bit narrow but it's a good road and the scenery is amazing.

We didn't have time to make the complete drive, but we did drive down to Long's Peak and back. Very pretty. I would recommend this to anyone for a great idea of the area.

We drove this route during the winter. Cannot wait to drive it in the Spring! We went online and found a guide that we printed and took with us. That is a must or you will miss many points of interest and breathtaking views.

A wonderful scenic route with views you won't believe. Simply breathtaking! Be sure your car is in good condition and so is the driver - driving is high altitude. But its a drive you won't regret. Wonderful for photography.

This drive was approximately 55 miles from Estes Park down past Black Hawk. It was very enjoyable - scenic, easy drive. Only took approximately 80 minutes or so. I would recommend.

This route is a must if you're visiting the Mountains between Estes Park or Central City in Colorado. The drive is very long, but well worth it when you see everything along the way. You don't have to travel the full route if you don't want too. I would recommend to begin with Estes Park and drive south, but driving... More

If you're planning to enjoy the majesty of Rocky Mountain National Park this summer, consider doing the whole "loop". "The Loop", and it begins at the Hwy 119 exit (Golden) on I-70. This is the start of "Peak to Peak Highway", a national scenic roadway and, for my money, one of the finest in the world. The road rises into... More

Well this journey I have done many times from Estes Park all the way to Idaho Springs on the "Peak to Peak" highway. Most of the time I travel between here (Estes Park) and Eldora Mountain RESORT near Nederland CO. The views are spectacular especially turning the fall when the Aspens come alive. I have many videos on you tube... More

Amazing road to travel, personally I prefer southbound but either way is amazing. Lots of stop off spots along the way to take pictures, just be safe its a highway after all. Winter tires or chains are mandatory in winter months and for good reason. Enjoy!
