Rebecca and her crew Scott & Ryan were very professional and provided us with 2 lovely dives. I have done a few hundred dives in Kona, but had never done any diving in Kawaihae. The North dive sites were beautiful with healthy coral. One of the divers in my group did not have weight pockets and Rebecca arranged weight pockets... More

I always enjoy my dives with Kohala Divers. Super friendly shop personnel, excellent dive leaders, and how can you not like diving in lava tubes and swim through and around lava arches. I keep coming back because it is always worth it and I always see something amazing!

Based in Kawaihae, a small fishing village in North Kohala, Kohala Divers is thankfully far from the maddening crowd of the 20 or so (at last count) dive shops based in and around Kailau-Kona and the resulting overcrowded and tired dive sites. Scott and Robin, our two dive masters and Captain Steve were very professional, organized and friendly throughout our... More

Smaller boat means they run a very tight ship- great staff, organized, full service. When there was a pickup snafoo, the owner called and more than made up for the problem. My teens did their check out dives and got good attention.

I have been Scuba Diving since 1978, all over the Carribean and Hawaii. I paid for the diving (In full),last year. I told Rebekah (The Owner),my wife and I would use their gear (Except for Mask). She gave me a price, and paid for it. The morning of our dive, the shop manager ,told me we would have to pay $60 more to... More

Wow, I am so sorry to hear of your bad experience and it sounds like we have had a misunderstanding that I would love the opportunity to make right. Since this is a public review I feel I should explain the transaction in question. Kohala Divers offers a Prebuy dive card for its newsletter subscribers once a year, that can... More

Very personable experience, it is a small operation and they provide a terrific experience. This would be a great place to get your first dives under the belt. Did a one day two tank dive, there were 5 divers in my group plus 2 beginners who had their own divemaster. This is the only dive I've done on the Big... More

Had a 2-tank one morning and a night reef dive, all from a boat. Everyone was a professional and really pleasant about it. The D.M.'s ability to spot critters was uncanny. I will definitely dive with them again.

I have about 120 dives under my belt over the years and this dive shop was one of the most professional, thorough, safe and friendly that I have come across. They took the time to do a full boat briefing, a safe and informative dive prep before each dive and made the diving easy! It was luxurious to just sit... More

Me and my newly married wife came here to experience our first scuba diving excursion and we couldn't have picked a better place to do it. We had no training or certification but they led us through a short lesson in the basics to get us familiar with the sport. The next day we got to leave on a small... More

Did some checking on the net before going to Kohala Drivers' modest shop. Instantly felt at ease. I booked a two-tank dive for the next day. Had so much fun, I booked another. Scott was the first dive master. Warren was dive master second trip. Both were excellent. The other dive masters on the boat, the captains, and the store... More
