We went to the museum on a Sunday where it is free to enter between the hours of 9-1. We enjoyed the exhibits and the balloon simulator. There were a few hands on things for children to do, but I'm not sure its enough to hold a small person's interest. I'm not sure my grandson would appreciate the museum until... More

This is a place where dreams are made - especially a dream to soar above the city! EVERYTHING you ever wanted to know about baLlooning in a clean air conditioned building. A visit will definitely make you want to take that balloon ride adventure - or at least see the International Fiesta in October.

Albuquerque being the home for one of the largest balloon festivals in the world, it is only natural that there is a museum dedicated to the sport. This is a very good museum, with friendly and knowledgeable volunteers, many of whom are balloonists themselves. The displays were well done and easy to understand, with many audio-visual screens. Several original examples... More

Having known nothing about ballooning I came out of here a lot more informed. What a fantastic place full of exhibits and hands on activities. The museum is well laid out with plenty to see and read about. I sat and watched a video on the balloon fiesta which made me feel like I was right there! A beautiful wedding... More

Having never seen a balloon museum and having experienced the Fiesta first hand - this is a treat to have such an interesting edifice provide history and education regarding this unusually fascinating annual event and year-round sport. Located at the prominent end of the expansive balloon field, this appropriately balloon-esque architecture houses paraphernalia from all manner of hot-air and helium... More

A fun place to spend a couple of hours. Replicas of historic balloons and exhibits of modern record-setting round-the-world types. Anything you want to know about hot-air or gas balloons, it's probably here.

We spent a little over an hour at the Balloon Museum and saw pretty much everything even with a docent to guide us through. I had hoped they would have some balloons tethered outside to view but no such luck. Be still a fun place to visit!
