Anyone should visit to see: Who and what changed history as we live it. Extraordinary display of a reconstruction of "The Gadget" first nuclear device and highly interesting outside display of the real planes and missiles

The fun starts early like around 5 am so it can be cold. I would recommend that you dress in layers. There is food available and lots of hot coffee. There is venders of all types for you to check. out. Be sure to bring your camera.

I think you have to be a ballooning enthusiast to really enjoy this museum which consists largely of items with lengthy explanations. We took our grandsons, ages 8 and 10. They breezed through the exhibits, uninterested, other than the simulator which they loved and building their own balloon. There is a backdrop and a balloon basket where you can take... More

We weren't in town during the Balloon Fiesta but we were happy to visit the museum and get a taste of the history, technology and fun around hot air ballooning. There are numerous exhibits, videos, interactive displays and a balloon school. The exit takes you through the gift shop where you can spend some time browsing before going on your... More

The Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum is definitely for the enthusiast, filled with lots of history, replicas and actual gondolas. Albuquerque is the international capitol of hot air ballooning and host to its annual event - the Balloon Fiesta - late September through early October. Exhibits teach how balloons "fly" and allow guests to experience this through a simulator. Also, the... More

If you are in town, it is worth a visit. It takes about 2 hrs to go thru it. If you have a air and space interest, this is the place for you. There are many exhibits about ballooning, gliding, and parachuting. The hot air balloon school section is great! There is a simulator to learn to fly a balloon.... More

Loved this place. It captured the excitement, history, and the adventure of hot balloons. I can't wait to return to Albuquerque to see the big race and exhibition the first full weekend of October. The beauty and multiple colors of the balloons were inspiring. Expect to spend 1 1/2 hours to explore this site.
