We stopped at the Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum on our way to Santa Fe. I was not aware of the history of hot air balloons and did not know about the hot air balloon festival held each year in Albuquerque. As such, the museum was quite a learning experience for me. The interior is relatively small, but the ceiling is... More

My grandkids love this place. We would like to go back in October during the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta.

Pros: Interesting and detailed history of hot air balloon flight. Many interactive exhibits, including one flight simulation game help to explain how hot air balloons fly. Plus, the museum is located right on the grounds of the Balloon Fiesta Park where the hot air balloon festival is held every year. The museum also highlights all the space technology made possible... If you into ballooning and hang gliding you will love this place. Other wise it is not work the trip. You can get through the museum in about 30 minutes if you take you time.

Never imagined the museum would give me the opportunity to see an actual WWII Japanese Fugo Bomb carrying balloon! If you have ever been captivated by the idea of floating through the air this museum will have something for you. BTW, this would seem to be THE facility to describe the lighter than air adventure and display the well-travelled lawn... More

I always look forward to the lift off and coloration of the those huge hot air balloons. It's amazing to watch each pilot navigate the winds and airways as they maneuver those colorful vessels along the atmosphere. Excellent...!

We learned so much go through the exhibits that we never knew about the Balloons. They also have an excellent area for children to explore and do and learn. A very fun place to visit.

Although our visit was cut short by a major storm and power outage, we enjoyed learning about the history of ballooning.

This was a outstanding experience. We did have a docent named Mary she was so passionate about the subject. She had great personal stories we went in not sure this was going to be something we would enjoy came out with a greater knowledge of the sport and throughly excited about our experience. Was well worth the time. They do... More
