We went to see the Sunday afternoon matinee of "In The Next Room (The Vibrator Play)" at the Vortex Theater. Being new ABQ residents, we'd stumbled onto this venue completely by accident when browsing the "ABQ To Do" website. I wasn't expecting much from local theater, but was very impressed with the quality of the production and the cleanliness and... More

I went to go see this show on April 17th. This is the quintessential New Mexican story. Well acted, especially by the kids. Very emotional and fun. I enjoyed it from beginning to end.

Our first time at the Vortex...wonderfully quaint! The play and cast of The Seven Year Itch was wonderful! Definitely worth it and it won't be the last show we see here.

We were in Albuquerque just for the weekend and happened to find out about the Vortex Theatre's Shakespeare festival going on at the time. What a great find! Took us a while to fine, as you can't see it from the main road, and when we got in there and saw how small of a place it was, with a... More

Every time you go it's like a different theater as they rearrange then seating for each production. Often have a fresh approach to classics, fun with comedies, and three great Shakespeare's each summer never a ho hum evening.

Found out about a production of Romeo and Juliet through one of the local free artsy papers at the Vortex theatre. It was a little tough to find but we did. We also purchased our tickets ($15 each) online. The theatre is very very small I don't think it seats more than 100 people. The production was well done and... More

We are from out of town, but go to the Vortex whenever we visit. This small theater puts on cutting edge plays, with terrific local actors at a very low admission cost. Recently we saw a great producation of King Lear (with modern dress) and years ago saw Sondheim's Assassins--a very off beat musical. The theater is just off Central... More
