I did notice a bunch a baby mice in a lot of the animals dens and the polar bears weren't there but being polar bears I don't blame them the bear pool had no shade and no ICE so maybe the zoo keepers put them somewhere cool... Yes it was hot in the sun but we are from florida so... More

Fun for all ages The Rio Grande Zoo is fantastic. Clean and the animals are well taken care of. In the summer they have outdoor concerts!

Okay, I'm a bit biased, because I admittedly don't like zoos. I've been to the San Diego Zoo and didn't have a good time, so take this review for what it's worth. The zoo is small, hot, and unpleasant. The animals seem sad to be there...just like me. I will say the kids always have a great time. They enjoy... More

We went to the zoo on a Saturday and it was all perfect. We got the combo pass for two adults and it was only $40 for out-of-towners. It included unlimited train rides, and passes for the zoo, garden and aquarium. The zoo was clean, had ample shade, and lots of resting places. The exhibits were informational and fun. The... More

If visiting Albuquerque, take the time to see the zoo. The new exhibits are wonderful such as the extended elephant exhibit and the polar bear exhibit. The seals are a must. If it's hot and you have kids, take your swim suits and hit the water area across from the giraffes. It's worth buying a pass to get into both... More

The day we went to the zoo just happened to be buy one get one Sunday so it was super economical. Not sure how often that special is offered. We arrived at the zoo around 3:30 and it seemed all the animals were just waking from there afternoon naps and were ready to entertain there guests! We had a great... More

Half the fun of going to the Rio Grande Zoo is watching not just the animals, but the people, too. Albuquerque is an interesting place filled with a varied cast of characters, and there's something about the Rio Grande Zoo that seems to draw a wide variety of them to the same place. So, in between browsing gorillas and polar... More

Quite a variety of animals to observe. Many refreshment stands throughout. Great for kids. There is even a train that connects to the nearby Biological Park.

Took my grandchildren to the zoo and we had a blast. It is not a huge zoo but the animals are well cared for and the zoo was clean. Of course lots of food and drink available. We took the train over to the Bio park which was a little disappointing. I had heard so much about the Bio Park... More

Great Zoo. Volunteers were great. Only thing is most exhibits were closed, very few signs telling you where to go and it was VERY SMELLY. I visit zoos in pretty much every city I visit and I've never had to run through an exhibit because of the smell...the worst....FLAMINGOS
