If you haven't been to the zoo since your childhood, then plan to visit the Rio Grande Zoo soon. The animals are comfortably housed in surroundings that replicate their ideal habitat. You'll be able to interact with docents and animal professionals as well, so ask questions and take lots of photos. You can also ride a train from the zoo... More

It's not a really BIG Zoo, but nicely done, with clean cages and a good variation of animals, nice walkways. You can even combine it with the Aquarium and travel on a little train between botha attractions

I will give the benefit of the doubt to the keepers, as I do believe they are doing the best they can with what they have. I will also excuse those with children who find it a fun place to go and rate this highly, as for them any zoo is better than no zoo. Unfortunately, this is a zoo... More

Enjoyed the zoo and the botanical garden and aquarium which are close by. I think you can get a package deal and there is supposed to be a train inside the parks too, but we didn't do that.

Huge with tons of animals and very clean. Nice train ride within the park. Reasonably priced. Dont go late in the afternoon because all the animals are sleeping.

Wow, wonderful. Lots of room for the animals. Loved the elephants and polar bears. Need more room for the big cats. Clean, good snacks.

My daughter and I really enjoy this zoo and go as often as we can. In fact we have an annual pass. We especially enjoyed awaiting the birth of the elephant Jasmine. We have watched her grow. The zoo keepers love the animals and treat them as family. This zoo is one of only two in the USA to have... More

Good selection of animals. Particularly enjoyed watching the polar bears being fed. Nice layout to the zoo, with plenty of animals.

Each year new exhibits are added and old ones redone. The seals and polar bears have long been my children's favorite. They have built a children's area where children can play and climb while parents can sit and take a break. No matter your age it is a wonderful place to visit, from animals native to New Mexico and America,... More
