The art and architecture are worth the visit - even the architectural wood carvings and glass work in the food court!! The performance shell provides an extraordinary venue for live music. Within a forest of towering cottonwood trees this intimate park has all the major attractions with exhibits that are more artful and accessible than most.Trains connect to the botanical... More

I visited the zoo on Saturday May 23rd. Very well kept zoo compared to others I've been to. Loved all the green around, and great exhibits of different types of animals. Definitely a place to visit while in Albuquerque.

Great Birthday spent at the Albuquerque Zoo/Botanical Gardens/Aquarium! Great exhibits---pink flamingos at zoo's entrance to views of gorillas, parrots, Tasmanian Devil, alligators, Hippos, Giant turtles, Eagles and Condors, wolves, lions, zebras, giraffes, rhinos, elephants, camels, mountain lions, tigers, cheetahs, kangaroos, sea lions--even two male peacocks strutting and showing their plumage. A small-gauge train took us for a 20 minute ride... More

Enjoyed the day with my wife and her home daycare toddler. We did not arrive until later in the day so we did not get to all the exhibits. Being off season a few exhibits were not open along with most of the snack bars. Overall a fun family field trip.

No matter what the weather, some animals will be out and active. This zoo has grown from practically nothing when I was a child (decades ago). It is a joy to see it is very progressive and animal care sensitive these days. I think it ranks with the best ine the nation!

A great experience for the family. We spent the entire day but still did not get to see everything. You can pay an extra fee to ride the train around the park and then go back for a walking tour. If you have little ones, they will love the jungle gym play park.

There are different tickets for this Zoo. I recommend the pass that lets you go from the Aquarium to the Zoo or vise-versa. Visit one area and ride the train over to the other and back. Nice time and not too much to see. Also the food court at the Zoo is nice.

We have been to many zoos, and found this one to be one of the better ones. Seems like something is always improved or new animals added everytime we go back. Very pleasant way to spend a few hours with family. If you have time, the Albuquerque Aquarium, can be seen in conjunction with the zoo. You can park at... More
