This is a great museum showcasing Hispanic paintings and sculptures. One of the interesting exhibits was a painting hung alongside a video of the painter actually creating the painting while an orchestra played and a singer sang. The soprano is captured in the painting! What a unique idea! Nearby is a Torreón (tower) with a 4,000 sq. ft. fresco depicting... More

The place is clean did not ave a musty smell, which is what I actually expected. The buildings are nice and extremely clean. If you had questions about where anything aw the people were happy to help.

We had this on our New Mexico Culture Pass or we would have missed it. There have a small museum with the work of hispanic artists. While most of the work is ordinary, there are a few wonderful pieces that knocked me out. I especially loved a triptych of leaping salmon with a Japanese influence. I could have looked at... More

Beautiful outdoor space with a small art exhibit inside was great for the 9 year-old I took there. A little bit of "approachable" art, not overwhelming in abstraction or quantity, gave him a feel for Hispanic artistic elements without boring him to tears. A great starter museum.

Just visit their website - there is always something going on. The performance center is a class act and the education programs for adults and children is beyond compare.

I've been to the NHCC three times during my trips to Albuquerque. Exhibits have been most enlightening in helping gain an appreciation of works created by Hispanic artists. Gift shop stocks very interesting items and staff -- probably volunteers -- is friendly and helpful. Although I live 1900 miles from ABQ, I've become a member of the Center.
