Tour brief but informative. Enjoyable and educational. The only downfall was that one of the female employees went out of her way to be a snothead.

I did not see any real ghosts, unfortunately, but my husband, son and I had so much fun on the tour. Great tour guide, good group of people with lots of questions, and a fascinating house. I want to go back and do the regular tour to learn about the families, architecture, and history of the house. One thing that... More

We had a wonderful tour of Centre Hill Mansion attending the ghost watch tour they host each January 24th. Due to the snow storm last weekend the tour was rescheduled but just as enjoyable. Our tour guide was a lovely young man named Gardener. You should request him if he is available when you visit. So much history here and... More

This place is beautiful and full of history. There is an underground walkway that leads from under the house to the nearby river. Beautiful.

Having toured a few historic homes, this one is pretty neat. You start in the basement for an intro to a tobacco baron family history. Depending on which guide you get, some go into more detail then others but none are disappointing. Once you move up to the first floor, you are awed by the opulence on display. Even with... More

A house museum with some of the original furnishings. Presidents Lincoln and Taft were once guests here. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff and guides.

Very worthwhile. Great tour guide. I lived in the area for many years before finally visiting this summer and was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful magnolias and weeping willow tree on property. This is in an urban area (guide explains that surrounding property once was part of the mansion's property but was divided/sold for income), so don't expect acres to wander around... More

I love the history of this home and historical ties to so many in our history. People will overlook this gem but should definitely stop by for a visit.

My my wife and I visited on April 16, 2015, as part of our Petersburg Museums Block Ticket. Interesting. Our guide, Gene, was nice.

The mansion was used for filming LINCOLN and several other movies and television series. What a place it must have been once! The floors, the wallpaper, the furnishings are all noteworthy. And did I mention that it's "haunted"? The White Lady supposedly roams the grounds, and occasionally Union Soldiers are heard to traipse up and down the steps. Wow. The... More
