We wanted to spend our day at the beach away from the big crowds of people. Was very disappointed to see all the trash on the beach when we arrived. The amount of trash was ridiculous, they do have trash cans scattered throughout the area. Guess people are too lazy to walk to the cans. We didn't stay long because... More

This is where the Rio Grande river ends to meet the Gulf of Mexico. So you will experience two kinds of soils and two flavors of water. Lot of driftwood adds to natural beauty. Just people don't make use of trash cans provided and throw trash around.

Apparently no one who uses this beach cares one bit about keeping it clean or saving the environment. It was dirty and trash was all over the place.

I lve the rugged solitude of this beach. Bring your dog. No facilities, so bring water and everything you need. Its nice because you dont have to drive all the way to the island to go to the beach.

This is a natural beach located east of Brownsville, Texas at the end of Highway 4. It is completely undeveloped, bordered on the north by the jetties at the Brazos Santiago and on the south by the Rio Grande River. You can literally park on the border of Mexico and the United States, which is less than 50 yards across.... More

Texas Hiway 4 goes east to the Gulf past sand marshes and grasslands. The closer you get to the end of the road you will start seeing the horizon become hilly with whitish lines running up and down the "hills" in the distance. Sand dunes! The pavement ends and you can drive onto the beach but follow the main tracks... More

Boca Chica State Park is about a 10-mile stretch of sand from the mouth of the Rio Grande River at the south end to the Brownsville Ship Channel at the north end. It is at the end of Texas Hwy. 4. Landlubbers would be well-advised, especially in the winter, to check tide tables before making the trip out if the... More

Boca Chica is the end of the world...deserted, wild beach and sand dunes - gives you the feeling of being the only people left on earth. Lots of shelling and fishing but no amenities. If you need it, you should bring it. One of the last places you can go to see true nature as it was a hundred years... More

Out at the end of the road, but it's a lovely beach with driving on the sand permitted. There were several groups meeting (OHV's) but there was plenty of room for all
