Out at the end of the road, but it's a lovely beach with driving on the sand permitted. There were several groups meeting (OHV's) but there was plenty of room for all

This is a neat place to visit! There's not much to do other than fish and bird watch. If one wants to participate in water sports, you need to bring a vehicle that can work well with the sand. My cell phone signal was poor, so I highly recommend you come prepared. If you get stuck in the sand, you... More

I've spend a great deal of time there but not lately. On the weekends the local go there and it's usually pretty crowded. But during the week I've been out there and there is nothing but me and the surf and the sun. You are on your own out there and take what you need and please don't litter. It's... More

Very quiet, nice sand, didn't get into the water, but as others have noted you need to bring everything as there are no facilities of any kind. Absolutely no people on the beach. Just as we were leaving some fishermen drove up and settled down the beach some. My only issue was the trash. The barrels were not full yet... More

Great place if you like to get away from it all. We enjoyed walking the beach, wading in the tide, driving on the beach, or walking and picking up shells. There were a lot of people on the beach fishing and just enjoying the beach. To the north you can see south padre island. The drive to the beach seemed... More

When for the drive to see the beach, and drive it north, to the channel at the southern tip of South Padre Island. The entrance to the beach is free, and you enter at about the 1/2 way point between the Mexican border, and the channel at S.P.I. It's about 5 miles to the border, or to the channel. We... More

This Beach is for those of us who love getting away from it all, You can enjoy, walking, playing in the tide, fishing, driving, watching birds, or doing nothing at all. At one end you can see San Padre Island and the other the lighthouse on the Mexican Border.

I was so hyped about this beach, we had been to south padre beach and thought the water quantity should be the same, this beach is more secluded, and we can drive on the beach ...what's not to like. Oh how we are wrong. Yes, this beach is very secluded, the drive through he park to get there is long... More

I went to Boca Chica State Park for a wedding. Beautiful setting. There were many people there already who were not part of the wedding party. All of the people who were already there were quiet and respectful of the service. At the end of the ceremony, when the groom kissed the bride, many people on the beach, and people... More

The beach isn't fancy---and there are no restrooms; but we head there for a quiet walk on my husband's day off every week. We haven't seen many shells, even though we go first thing in the morning; so don't expect to find much. There are no palm trees--or any other kind of trees. But, if the wind is blowing, there...
