Always fun for the kids. They offer excellent learning opportunities is summer with an array of classes. Lunch is provided. Animal interaction here causes a lot of excitement. Kids enjoy touching snakes, playing with lizards, holding opposums and feeding the alligators and rhinos. Many more memorable experiences that you will not get anywhere else. The staff is excellent with the... More

I have lived in this area for over 10 years and I know that the zoo is one of the city's main attractions. It will surely be fun for children and the new aquarium addition is pretty nice (you can get to pet manta rays). But the poor animals obviously have suffered the toll of not being in their natural... It's just perfect for field trips with students to meet some amazing animals! The kids love it and they just want to see everything!

One of the best things you can do in Brownsville. If you have an entire day to spare in Brownsville then this is a fantastic place to be.

We always go when the gate opens to see the feeding and most activity in animals. Gorilla's are our go to exhibit and this year instead of families of gorillas they have narrowed it down to 2. Lion was active and animated when his caretaker came around. Lion acted like he was charging to keeper. Holler monkey's put on a... More

This zoo does not have the largest selection of animals, nor is it the largest in size, but what it does have is a large variety of animals in its well used space. This zoo has many animals that are not common in other zoos. They also have a good breeding program. The children area is small but fun. Their... More

This was a good place to go, and there were lots of animals to see. The worst part was finding a place to park.

The more I review, the more I realize that my ratings are about expectations. Usually, I have a high bar for a 5 (really has to be one of the best things I've ever done), and I tend to think of a 3 as something I did that I liked well enough, but probably wouldn't push to do again if... More

This zoo has a wonderful selection of animals to see! They also have an aquatic section where you can pet stingrays. They also have a dinosaur exhibit there through July. I felt like they could do more for the upkeep of the place, though. There is a resaca that runs through the zoo and it stunk really bad - but... More

I did not expect such a great zoo! There is a wide variety of animals - tigers, white tigers, great reptiles, birds, monkeys, giraffe - and the design is pretty since it's built around waterways called resacas. They are adding some new attractions like a butterfly garden, so I will go there again next year when I visit my family... More
