I visited this zoo in the 80s and was so impressed with its openness and abundance of animals and plants. Not so today. Many of the enclosures were empty of animals, there was not a wide selection of animals and most were in cages. I was so disappointed that the zoo is so run down with so few animals. Too... More

Quite impressive, but not cheap and the signage could be a lot better. The Animals do appear to be content and in a fairly natural setting. I give it a thumbs up, but it's not any bargain and the constant shakedown is annoying!

This zoo is very clean and the animals roam free, most in "uncaged" areas. Motes keep the animals from the people and the animals all seemed so content. We saw many, many species that we had never seen before, and the animals are arranged by country of origin. There is also a small aquatic area that is very nice, and... More

A reasonably well maintained facility with a nice variety of animals. The site is clean and the animals appear to be well cared for. We were a group of 4 adults and all of us found it interesting. We spent an entire afternoon touring the facility. Would recommend better signage for some animal exhibits and some tags for identification of... More

Love the open, natural habitat concept instead of cages. Convenient parking, easy to photograph animals and well maintained pathways. Helpful staff and well cared for animals.

Enjoyed this visit immensely! A must if you have preschoolers and visiting the area - not too large of a zoo that you would get overwhelmed, and animals seem very well cared for and decently housed. This Zoo is part of a national exchange so you may be able to visit at a discounted rate if you have a membership... More

Love the ambiance of this zoo!Impressive foresight by zoo designers for animal enclosures. Well laid out & very walkable, even for seniors. Was told it's about 1 mile to walk it. Had originally thought we could have ridden the tram, but it only runs on Sunday's for $2/person. We were there on a Wednesday .The exception to that is, if... More

Some zoos are so concerned about the animals that they have them in huge areas and you only see a dot in the distance. Some zoos have the poor animals cramped in small, squad spaces. This zoo does a remarkable job of housing the animals and comfortable, clean, natural looking settings yet one can still see the animals easily. They... More
