I bird on the central Texas coast very often, probably 15 to 20 times a year. I always stop at the Port Aransas Birding Center when I am in the area. In migration it can be swarming with neo-tropical migrants, particularly warblers. Be sure to check the area around the picnic table as you walk in. Sitting there watching the... More

Great for bird watching and nature walk for young and old. Hidden in Port Aransas. Worth your time to stop and explore.

Went there in the middle of the day and was excited to see so many variety of birds. Found out that they have an alligator and a pier from which to search for him. Say plenty of wildlife to keep my 8 year old entertained while also enjoying the peaceful scenery.

Amazing birding next to sewer processing plant. Guided tour every Wed at 9am. Well worth it. Say twenty or more different birds including snowy egrets, spoonbills, herons, frigate birds, cormorants and many others. Very well informed guides with high power binoculars to help you spot birds and to tell you about each type. Definitely recommend

Just a short drive and you get to take a very quite and peaceful walk. High piers to stand and see fish in the water as well as many birds. There is also a small area where a candy machine sells fish food that you can throw in the water and hundreds of fish will come to the surface.

good, identifying pictures for the uninformed. Lots of shore/marsh birds, several kinds of ducks, even alligators (but not too close)

If you are a birder you will love it. Muskrat family in love and a 18-20' alligator. Wow!! Beautiful and large selection of birds. Seabirds ofcourse and winter migratory too. Take a binocular and camera.

I have lived in the area most of my life, and only recently discovered this gem once I picked up a birding habit. I had no idea that so many great little birding spots existed in Port Aransas. And as a plus the Mexican food restaurant you must pass by to get to the parking lot is cheap and good!... More

We loved going there to see the birds that winter in the area. It has a board walk with viewing areas.

This is an nice place to go right in town. There is a boardwalk over the water and it is a peaceful place to gaze at different birds of the area. You can also see the large ships coming through the channel in the distance. There is a large alligator that hangs out that can be seen form the boardwalk.the... More
