The sculptures - all made from found scrap metal - were amazing! The gift shop had some interesting things. The plumeria were truly magnificent. even the end of season roses were lovely. I have never seen so many hummingbirds anywhere ever, it was great! The butterfly garden had some beautiful butterflies, which I was lucky enough to photograph, and feeding... More

Took the grandkids and worried that it would be boring, but we had a good time. Besides the beautiful flowers, there were butterflies, birds and a place where they had reptiles. The kids were able to touch the snakes! We went early in the morning before it got too hot.

This is another place in Corpus Christi that is very interesting and a pleasure to visit. Surprisingly, the play area for children is just delightful! besides that area, the butterfly garden and caged birds guarantee a fun trip for all.

MOSQUITOS! That's my only gripe - I forgot bug spray. And we went around 2 p.m. and it was HOT! There were lots of beautiful plants and blooms (wish they were labeled more consistently) and we loved the butterfly house. My son enjoyed the playground quite a bit (the treehouse sits on a 400-year-old stump!).

This is the second time we have been here in the past couple of months. The "Scrapdaddy" art sculptures in among the plants is a fun addition which unfortunately will end Nov 1, 2014. They are currently doing some construction, but that does not detract from the enjoyable plants. The Plumaria were in bloom and as always stunning.

Enjoyed all the plants, animals and friendly staff. The small lake was all dried up, disappointed. Enjoyed the sculptures made of recycled parts. The special exhibit of the butterflies in frames were nice but the room was cluttered with boxes.

The gardens were beautiful, I loved the colors and how the gardens were set up. Walking through the gardens I saw flowers I wasn't familiar with and some I was, I love flowers and nature and this lived up to the signs they had posted.

The South Texas Botanical Gardens isn't as big and doesn't have the pizazz or refinement of some of its larger and more well-known cousins. From that standpoint, it is an average attraction. It does have a fairly long nature trail that takes you through a wetlands area (unfortunately dry when we visited) and along a creek to display the native... More
