This is an unassuming looking place from the road but do stop and spend some time here. Inside we had close encounters with the well cared for exotic birds, local, friendly snakes and an iguana who loved having his neck rubbed. Outside there are multiple gardens and play areas. Then on to nature walks by the ponds and through coastal... More

Some of the highlights for me are the orchid greenhouse, the hummingbird feeding area, which gets totally packed with hummingbirds at times, and the long walking trails and boardwalk.

Enjoyed the birds, orchids and butterflies the most. Bird walk was a little muddy but has potential when it is a little warmer out. Did not see any hummingbirds in the hummingbird garden but still some pretty plants there.

Things are a bit disorganized, many plants were missing signs to tell you what they were. The hummingbird garden had plenty of feeders, but they were empty, which disappointed the hummingbird I saw that came through looking for food.

The plumeria have not yet been taken out but other plants were going strong and even the butterfly exhibit had some hardy "flutter-bys" in the enclosure. Lots of very nice bird baths and feeders in the gift shop and all were pretty moderately priced. Was able to speak with "Rose Lady" and got some great recommendations.

They are trying to improve some of the greenhouses and planting beds. Maybe later in the year it will be better. With the lack of plants they should have a lower entrance fee for the winter months. They have quite a few birds in cages.

we enjoyed this place so much. we went on a cold and rainy day in January 2015, but we still enjoyed it so much. The staff was very knowledgeable, and spent time with us talking about the animals and birds. There is a Reptile Room, where we saw snakes, iguanas, and turtles. There was an animal trainer, named Jay, that... More

We went in late December so there was not much to see in the way of flowers but the Arid Garden was nice and we really enjoyed the birds, many of whom talk and dance. My grand kids loved the reptile area and the staff were very informative and even let them hold a snake! Very reasonable admission price and... More
