I'll keep this short. This is a must do tour while in C.C. But be aware, you will be climbing alot of stairs that are very steep and entering compartments with low overhangs. Having been on two escorted tours of active aircraft carriers (Enterprise and JFKennedy) as well as a visit to the USS Intrepid in NYC, the visit to the USS Lex was absolutely the best and highly recommended. Take a self guided tour of this historic ship. You get to see all of the ship including the bridge, bunks, engine room, flight deck etc. Very educational and entertaining with a great view of the bay. Admission also includes an Imax film. more

Toured the Lex 1/10/09. It was a decent experience. I stayed at a nearby hotel. Days Inn sucked. No hot water or heat. My key card didn't work. I was given a key that turned out to open many doors.
