Many shows to keep the kids active. Dolphin show is very fun. Wide host of animals including fish, jellyfish, crabs, sharks, otters, birds, dolphins, sting rays, sea turles. Indoor and outdoor activities. Nice observation deck... great views of beach, water and USS Lexington next door. There is a play area for the kids located next to a picnic area. Price... more

Unlike other reviews, we found the entrance and food prices very reasonable. The exhibits were filled with interesting fish, and the tanks were very clean. A lot of the tanks are at a lower level for the kiddo's, so do require some stooping for us adults. The shows were enjoyable, the guides very informative. We especially liked the Stingray touch... more

We vacation in Port A a few times a year and at least once a year we go to the TX State Aquarium. Our daughter (age 3) has loved it since she was an infant. The touch tank is always a hit with kids. The volunteers ( usually retired men and women) are very nice and helpful. It's kind of... more

I went this past week. I found it nice, but kind of boring. The attractions in San Antonio are better than this. They need to have speakers with music going, while looking around. The gift shops are also very expensive, it's not worth buying things. more

This was my husband and our 5 children's ( ages 12-11-10-7-2) first time and this was my second. I had gone when I was little which was about 20 years ago. There is still not much to it. They add the dolphin show but its boring. It's a great place to take pictures of the kids and for them to... more

This is a nice, small aquarium. I think it's more expensive than it's worth. Our family was done in 2 hours. Look for $2 off coupons on the Corpus Christi CVB website. You can walk to the Lexington, saving some parking costs if you're doing both attractions. The 2 main shows - dolphins and birds/mammals - are 20 minutes each... more

The aquarium was decent but overpriced. The food court was a joke and the elevator(s) very small. I got the impression that the Texas State Aquarium upper management staff will do anything to save money and make money. Specifically, they provide no parking attendants at the entrance and rely instead on a parking sensor that allows you to enter at... more

We have visited many attractions...New York Yankee Stadium, Grand Central Station, Fenway Park, a cruise around the Statue of Liberty. Each is a unique experience. The Texas State Aquarium, especially the Dolphin Encounter, surpasses any vacation/family attraction experience we have ever enjoyed The entire Awesome Team takes joy and pride, takes the time to give visitors the BEST Fun in... more

It is an aquarium that is devoted to the marine life in the Texas/Gulf Coast area (and has added a few other exhhibits). If you want to pay the Sea World prices (which are much more I might add), dirve north on I-37 to San Antonio. It is what it is, and I have enjoyed it each time I go. more

I agree with some other reviewers who believe that $15.50 (plus $4 parking) is too high a price for what you get here. The actual aquarium displays are nice, but they display mostly local species which aren't particularly colorful or beautiful. The dolphin show was particularly bad; it bored my kids, and many other people who got up and left... more
