SLC has a very nice visitor's bureau. I've gone there several times to get information for friends who were going to visit. The convention center is very nice to and interesting to walk around in.

The Convention Center (Salt Palace) is an amazing location for a convention or event. The company that I'm with had their 30th annual convention here. The location was perfect. Food and drinks are available here also and it's very close to everything in downtown Salt Lake.

The Visitor's Bureau has its own entrance right about the center of the Salt Palace Convention Center, but is also accessible from inside. There are people inside that are helpful with suggestions and you can get a free printed map. Definitely a good first stop if you going to a convention or staying at a nearby hotel. I do wish... We attended a big conference in Salt Lake City. If you are flying in and have a hotel close to the convention center take the light rail. It is awesome and very inexpensive $1.50 one way. We stayed at the Radisson and it stopped one block away. Everything is reasonably located from the convention center. We never even missed not... More

The Convention Center was a great place for the Clickin Mom's conference. Of course there was a lot of walking involved but you expect that at a convention center. I was disappointed that the Convention Center did not have any place open for a light lunch. I had to go across to the hotel to have lunch when I only... More

Salt Lake City Convention and Visitors Bureau does an excellent job of helping tourists in the area. You can visit their place. Or as I often do visit their excellent web site for information. They do a very good job of providing tourists with a wealth of good information,.

I would suggest that visitors to Salt Lake start out by stopping in at the Salt Lake Visitors and Convention Bureau (SLVCB) in the Salt Palace Convention Center. (Do not confuse the SLVCB with the LDS Church Visitors’ Centers or the Salt Palace Convention Center with the LDS Church’s Conference Center.) This excellent source of information is located at 90... Have always made this a stop in my visits to Salt Lake. Great advice and great gift shop. Always find very special gifts for family and friends. Take the time to stop and ask!

First I wil start with just the Wasatch front, which inculdes downtown SLC and the mountains and Great Salt Lake. I moved here for work about 20 years ago from the Bay Area, CA. If I was taking friends on a tour, I would start off in downtown. I would take them to the Gateway center and the new Mormon... More
