This Catholic cathedral is not on everyone's list to visit when in Salt Lake City, because most attention is focused on the Mormon Temple and area. But to miss the Cathedral of the Madeline which be a shame. The exterior of the building is fine but looks fairly ordinary with its twin towers but the interior is fabulous with the... More

I attended a beautiful Mass here and also enjoyed hearing a remarkable pipe organ that would be an exception in any city but here is overshadowed by the one at the Mormon Tabernacle. This church was built in 1900 and has an interior that is different from most Catholic Churches I have attended. The Mass was also quite meaningful and... More

This is a beautiful church regardless of your faith. It has tours Sunday morning at 12:30. The pipe organs are very impressive. It was repainted about 20 years ago and it looks like it was yesterday. Highly recommend!!

What an architectural gem. You can find the cathedral on South Temple. It is beautiful on the outside and reflective of the early Spanish citizenry inside. The choice was absolutely beautiful.

This church is absolutely stunning. I went in the early morning, on a Sunday, an hour before services began. The architecture is wonderful and it is a great place for meditation. I loved both the stained glass windows, the ceiling and the altar.

Concerts here are always free - they do accept donations. This beautiful cathedral is a great setting. The organist can put on a show. He is great.

Stunning Cathedral in the heart of Salt Lake City. Many beautiful stained glass windows. The big pipe organ is used for concerts - I just missed one. Great turn of the last century architecture.

The Cathedral of the Madeline is a must see if you like to tour Gothic Architecture. It is beautiful both outside and in. Easy to get to if you are traveling east on South Temple.

Salt Lake City's 1909 Cathedral of the Madeleine is a real architectural beauty and a community gem. Public tours are available April through August, and holiday masses are a real treat, regardless of your religious inclinations. The Madeleine Festival each April and May offers numerous lectures and art events. Gorgeous stonework and stained glass adorn this Romanesque masterwork, and the... More

What a sight to behold! I loved touring this cathedral. It was unlike so many other Catholic churches I have toured both in the U.S., Mexico and in Europe. It had a distinct Mexican theme with bright colors which totally amazed me. You will be pleasantly surprised no matter your religion of choice. Don't miss this one!
