I lived in Salt Lake City for 35 years and went to many productions at this old, lovely theater. I saw Cats, Beauty and the Beast and Phantom of the Oprah. They were all wonderful. The theater dates back to the 1800's I think and it's just so beautiful inside. Something you should not miss when in SLC

Maybe it's nostalgia from my grandmother taking us to see the Nutcracker ballet every Christmastime growing up, but this theater is one of my favorite places in SLC. I highly recommend seeing a ballet, but theater productions are awesome here too. It's elegant and beautiful, and the sound quality is very good. The character of the theater itself adds to... More

One of the first things one should know before attending a play here is that there are not even bathrooms. No where near enough! During break we immediately left for the bathrooms. I was shocked to see the line that had already formed but having attended other plays at other venues I wasn't too concerned until after 10 minutes I... More

AS can be expected, the seats here are TINY, but, I LOVE taking my daughters to performances here. The sound quality is great, and they really keep this place nice.

We hit the Capitol for the ballet this time around, and we've been there for other events through the years. Great, classic, elegant, lovely venue...an excellent place to enjoy an evening of theater or dance.

Our family recently attended the play, "Wicked," at the Capitol theater in Salt Lake. We have gone to many plays here. The quality of the traveling troupes have generally been good. It is an old theater and is beautiful. The seats are pretty close together. The rest rooms are small and crowded. There is parking close by. When purchasing tickets... More

Old world decor, not too big so all seats are close enough to get a good view. The show was hilarious and very well produced. At the end there was an interactive event that had a member of the audience being invited to the stage for photos with the cast and a special commemorative prize.

This is a highlight of my year - 48 contestants vie for the title of Miss Utah. They are talented, smart and definitely beautiful girls. This year the venue had been UPGRADED and it is even more functional and beautiful than before. New seats, a change in the pit orchestra location, and a new lobby. The change is continuing as... Booked to see Memphis the Musical during our stay in Salt Lake City whilst on a tour from the UK. We had booked the tickets in good faith not realising it wasn't from the theatre itself. A problem arose with the delivery and collection of the tickets at our hotel, which would have meant us most likely missing the show,... More
