This was the first Ballet I have ever attended. I was absolutely floored by how fantastic this show was. I went with three co-worker's and we were all surprised by the beauty and accuracy of the dancers. Kristiana was flawless! The Swans were magnificent! All of the dancers are extremely talented! Thank you Ballet West for an incredible show. I... More

You don't have to love ballet to see Swan Lake. It's a beautiful story: man/Prince falls in love with woman/swan. Woman/swan dies. Man/Prince dies. Very traditional. I saw a terrific performance of the ballet in SLC this weekend. The costumes were sumptuous, the sets marvelous and the dancing excellent. The Capital Theatre is a wonderful setting in which to see... More

We saw the Saturday Matinee of Swan Lake at the brand new Janet Quinney Lawson Capital Theatre. The actors in this matinee were fabulous, the costumes stunning, and the orchestra was perfect. If you have not seen a ballet before, this is the one to see first!. I can not say enough about how beautiful it was.

The story itself is really fun, and the staging and dancing was exquisite. The Capitol Theater is a magnificent setting. The only thing that could improve it is to sell wine for the intermission. Yeah, I know, Utah!

My wife and I had season tickets to the ballet for two years, and we attended again last week. Ballet West does a superb job, in our opinion. They stage traditional ballets, of course doing the Nutcracker and shows such as Peter Pan and Cinderella, yet they also do new works too, which we appreciate for "something different." The performances... More

I have done many Summer Intensives and Nutcracker performances with Ballet West! They are so fun and make you work so hard! I high recommend it for the more determined dancers!

Not only is Sleeping Beauty stunningly beautiful, it's also fun as in the final act during the wedding celebration when fairy tale characters (e.g., Little Red Riding Hood & the Wolf; White Kitty & Puss in Boots) perform pas de deux. Lovely, lovely evening. The renovations to the Capitol Theatre are helpful, too, and will be complete when more women's... More

If you get a chance to see anything of Ballet West's, the Nutcracker is a holiday must. But everything else is spectacular too! Not much of a ballet fan, Ballet West has me sold on the whole package. I just might become one!

We went to the firebird, which was very fun. My 10 year old really enjoyed it. We also saw Petite Mort. This piece, set to a few songs by Mozart, was amazing. I love the freedom of Contemporary dance and I love the technical strength of these Ballet dancers and Petite Mort was a wonderful blending of the two. What... More

If you don't know the history of this company, you may be surprised to find it in Salt Lake City. It goes way back to the 1950's or so. It was founded by Willam (sic) Christensen who came from San Francisco and had ties to Balanchine. Their Nutcracker -- a seasoned production over 60 years old -- is a classic.... More
